14 weeks? I think most people would pay for the retail kit. It's great marketing, get the credit! You would have to order now to build by mid May at the earliest. It's good they are offering it though, and it would take time. The retail cost of the kit is quite reasonable.

Seeing all the 3rd party support Ryzen is getting, AMD has everyone excited. I'm sure some of these companies have seen some stuff from AMD already too, that's a very good sign for the performance.

I wonder how much AMD are contributing to the cost of these 'free' upgrades to the cooler manufacturers.

It's because demand will likely by high so that's why it may take that long.

Noctua are great for this though, I'm still using my NH-U12P cooler which I originally got got my old q6600 system (let me oc that to 3.5GHz with no cooling issues at all.... Could have pushed it further but CPU wasn't stable past that).

When I got my 4690k system, didn't have the mounting kit necessary for it, so contacted Noctua, showed them my original proof of purchase and they sent out a kit, it took 4 days to arrive.

It's still a great cooler, keeping my CPU at ~65Âșc at 4.2GHz.

Wonder if Corsair will do something similar with their H100i water cooling products.

Just received an email from Noctua, there is a mistake in the press-release. It is 1 to 4 weeks.

it is because it is a real new socket... (not as the 939/AM2/AM3 or 1156/1155/1150/1151 that share same attachement)

it was the same for 2011 on intel side.

btw this quote doesn't tell that Rizen will be bad at all, all rumor seem to be good and not over hyped :)

    we will see

Has anyone heard anything about Enermax's AiO units being compatible? If it's not going to happen I'll slap it on my current i7 6700K and finally OC that puppy. I don't mind getting a new cooler for Ryzen if need be, but saving $ is nice too. :)

Well Google answered my own question. It appears Enermax is offering a free AM4 compatibility kit for many (most?) of their Coolers. However my specific one, a Liqtech 120X is excluded from that offer. :(

Anyone have a favorite AiO CPU Cooler that's confirmed to work with AM4 and can be found ~$50 on sale?

I think it's great that the companies, here Noctua, offer free upgrades for coolers once new platforms come out. Pro customer move, I like that.
