hmm tried with old PSU 24+4 pin, still the same, guess itz not the PSU, this is annoying, maybe it is the ram, I thought it would beep (error beep) if ram wasn't working??

But there could be times where the computer does not POST and RAM does not beep......few months ago I installed 4 sticks of ram 2 single sided & 2 double sided and the computer OK managed to switch on but did not made any POST and no beeps. This was because the motherboard supported only 4 sticks which where single sided. I know that in your case you have placed only one stick but make sure that also the motherboard supports the type of RAM you have got.

yeh itz DDR3-1600Mhz the board should support it, would there be any other compatibility issues besides speed?

    they're 1.65v right?

and maybe it could be that bios is setting wrong mem timings (its not recognizing spd properly) and its failing to boot..

hmm me and Shotty have just noticed that the pic Gigabyte sent me, of them testing my board; the northbridge heatsink didn't have a scratch on it, yet my board has a fairly large one, wasup with that :3eyes:

    What a nightmare.

You sure the light isn't hiding the scratch? Be really unusual for them to send you back a faulty board and "fake" it being fixed. It's just a bunch of guys donig a job like everyone else, dunno what they'd gain by pulling a stunt like that!

I RMA'd my board with the same UK warehouse and they sent me photos etc, true enough my board wasn't faulty. Was my graphics card had died.

u really think light can hide that a scratch like that, I really doubt it man, I've zoomed in the pic loads, and u can't even see a hint of that scratch
