Hello there. I have weird problem which I don't know, how to solve. I started to play Witcher 3 and I found, that when the GPU usage is 100%, my core clock are not at max and it's jumping a little all the time. If I limit FPS enough or find scene with lower GPU usage, the clock sticks on max! So when I'm looking to ground/forest, I have around 60FPS but clock only around 1200MHz. When I look into the sky, I have clock at full speed (1400MHz) and 72FPS (limited in RivaTuner, I have FreeSync 75Hz monitor) and 90% usage. If I limit FPS e.g. to 45, I have again full clock 1400MHz all the time, but usage only about 70%! Vsync ON/OFF doesn't care, Chill OFF, ULPS OFF. CPU usage looks OK (around 40% on each core). 18.1.1 drivers Any tips? Thank you.
Power limits. Certain shader code makes use of more transistors. And so card eats more power. As result it hits Power Limit wall and downclocks. Increase Power Limit or downvolt GPU.
Thanks for the reply! It really looks like it limit power around 145W. After increasing power limit in AfterBurner I git full core clock even with 100% load and around 160W. Interesting that I already tried this option and didn't saw any change. Maybe I forgot to hit apply?
Uninstall Riva and use Radeon Settings should help your issue... Adrenalin driver does not like other tools fumbling with GPU settings - you can do that with Radeon too.
I use RivaTuner mainly for the OSD. OSD included in the drivers is still not so pleasant like RT... Anyway I tested the power settings and it looks OK with Radeon. If I change it with AB I see it in Radeon and vice versa...
Okay, that means it is compatible with Radeon Settings - Gigabyte just recently managed to make AGE compatible with Rad. Settings. It took them quite a long while..
