This persons planet is awesome xD https://www.reddit.com/r/NoMansSkyTheGame/comments/6t2xfd/my_planet_has_bubbles/
Runs like a pig. 46FPS@1440p on minimum details (everything on "low") with a GTX 980 Ti being loaded at 99%. Very "optimized" game.
I am getting it too on some rocks and some Gek's It is running smooth as butter here... have you tried deleting the texture cache? *edit* Low Texture screenshots.. Spoiler I started the game from scratch too see all the changes... here is my start planet screen. Spoiler
Check your config file in case the patch changed something. This patch is giving me a headache :bang: I had to remove all my mods, delete all the shader files, config files and my save game just to get past the "Loading Shaders" screen without it crashing. Then I had to manually change my settings back and swap out the new save game files for the old ones. Now my game loads but I'm on a space station far away from my home base planet and the game crashes when I use the Teleporter. The NPC and animal models also look low-res as others have mentioned. On a positive note, the game (albeit mod-free) is running super fast. I even had to lower the mouse look sensitivity.
the settings that got rid of muddy textures for me are in the TKGRAPHICSSETTINGS.MXML file located in yourdrive:\Steam\SteamApps\common\No Man's Sky\Binaries\SETTINGS Open the file with a text editor such as Notepad and look for: Property name="TextureStreamingEx" value="Auto" Property name="TexturePageSizeKb" value="64" and change them to: Property name="TextureStreamingEx" value="Off" Property name="TexturePageSizeKb" value="1024" If you see no change, try raising "TexturePageSizeKb". Mine is set at 8192 Deleting the SHADERCACHE folder in yourdrive:\Steam\SteamApps\common\No Man's Sky\GAMEDATA is required to see the results.
is this game worth playing now with the latest patch, had it free with the PS4, although its quite cheap on steam at the moment. never played it with all the negative press at launch with a lot of the features hyped up about the game not being there in launch
It's better than it was but it is still a fairly mediocre game in my experience after the first few hours when you realise how samey, bland, empty and dull its universe really is. No amount of tweaks and patches can ever make up for my initial impressions of the game which I bought at launch. And the user-interface/inventory system is still straight from hell in my opinion. I would recommend Buying it when it's uber-cheap in a sale. At least then you can get your money's worth out of it.
If anyone finds bugs report them here https://hellogames.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/requests/new?ticket_form_id=167605 I've reported in-game vsync setting still not working "forcing it with video card control panel works" and the low quality texture bug and some other random ones.
The steam reviews are now like a two faced coin xD New patch notes. Spoiler Hello! Thanks so much for all of your feedback following the launch of Atlas Rises, it’s great to see so many of you enjoying the update. Today we’re releasing Patch 1.31 on PS4, and it will follow soon on Steam. This fixes a number of issues including: Fixed an issue causing some players to crash when accessing the galactic map while having too many waypoints active Fixed a crash some players experience when pinning certain tech Fixed a crash which occurs when players with particularly long play-throughs attempt to save the game Fixed an issue that sometimes resulted in guild missions not crediting correctly If you experience any issues, let us know by submitting a bug report. Thanks! Hello Games New page.. I'll just put the bug report form here again https://hellogames.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/requests/new?ticket_form_id=167605
40 minutes. It runs like crap. All graphics at the lowest setting, GPU is at 99% with 45FPS. FOV is so narrow it's unplayable. The mouse look feels like crap too. To me it feels like a very bad, very low effort console port.
Tried any of my suggestions here or from other forums? The game's performance has been up and down for me depending on the current patch, config settings, mods installed etc. It's easily playable on my system at 1440p and it should be playable at 1080p or higher on a 980Ti unless there's something wrong with the patch. New version of the fps booster: http://www.nexusmods.com/nomanssky/mods/441/? The FOV is easily fixable. Change it to 140 in the config file to simulate 100 FOV. The Chromatic Aberration/Vignetting mod also helps to get rid of the claustrophic look: https://nomansskymods.com/mods/chromatic-aberration-vignetting-scan-lines-removal-for-altas-rising/
Welp tried everything....textures still crap....planets look like a matt painting of fluro paints when i land on them.....buildings and ship flat......rocks etc matt brownish red.......back to Diablo 3.....
I play on 1440p, not 1080p. And yes, the config files were clean; freshly created by the 1.3 version of the game. Then all in-game settings were set to the minimum possible and the game was restarted. No, no mods like that. This results in object or texture pop-in. And I shouldn't need a performance mod on a 980 Ti with all settings set to lowest :-/ I tried that, but this breaks the graphics. The image around the center of the screen is glitching (polygons appear out of nowhere, and objects disappear or get buried under the glitch-polygon.) And there's nothing to fix mouse-look. Sensitivity is broken and there's frame skipping. This game seems to be made for controllers, and mouse users are being dog-fed. Anyway, refund went through. So I don't have the game anymore. You have to be really careful when trying to test a game with different settings and/or mods, since that can take you over the 2-hour limit. Too bad there's no demo for the game so that people can test the performance at least before buying.
