The NGO ATI Optimized Driver is a tweaked version of the ATI Catalyst driver. The main purpose is to satisfy the users with better performance and image quality. The Driver has support for all Radeon cards.

    Changes
    * Based on ATI Catalyst 6.3
    * Updated ATI Tray Tools to v1.0.5.824
    * Added support for X1900 GPUs
    * Enabled Triple Buffering by default
    * Disabled Adaptive Anti-Aliasing by default (Ultra Edition)
    * Disabled High Quality Anisotropic Filtering by default (Ultra Edition)
    * General bugfixes

Download Here or at the Guru3D.com mirror here.

Sorry this will give a better depiction

    ATI catalyst 6.2 standard : 5490
    ATI Catalyst Warcat 6.2 : 5500
    ATI Catalyst DHZer0point 6.3 : 5550
    ATI Catalyst Omega 6.2 : 5500
    ATI Catalyst 6.3 Standard : 5500
    ATI NGO 6.3 : 5650

ATI Catalyst 6.3 Standard (without OC) : 4800
    ATI Catalyst NGO : 4950

I know a difference of 100 points is neither here nor their. The DHzer0's and Omega's although high in the end started to make my comp crash to blue screen in far cry and chronicles of riddick. All the other drivers for my comp have been rock solid at in stablility at my OC <---. I really like NGO drivers, and it seems these are really good for me. Glad to see a new release finally

Actually chronicles of riddick seems to be a hell of a lot faster. I think their might have been summinnwrong with my previous drivers. A steady 60 fps with full anisotropic and 4xAA. Although in some massive scenes it does drop to 35-40. But gameplay just seems smoother overall which is good for an opengl game. Every other game is as expected. steady 60 fps and up in farcry with max everything and same AA AF. Rarely dropping to 40 in massive firefights. Im pleased overall. Try em yourself and see what happens..

wanted to test those, made uninstalls and use drivercleaner etc. started setup on those drivers, picked up my card etc. and then boom "install standard vga drivers first" or something like that, anyways it wanted standard vga driver :p. Installed catalyst afterwards, and those installed allmost perfectly (had zero display support error in the end) but that didnt do anything :p. so im back on catalyst now, no luck for me huh.

Your card came out years ago... Trust me, if there was any more optimizing ATi could do, they'd have done it a while back. On top of that, the performance increases you see with modded drivers diminish as your card ages, so don't expect any fantastic changes out of a 9xxx series part.

Bit more on topic, very nice drivers Regen. Always enjoyed your set...

That does not make sense. In some cases this one will be better, and in other the NGO's. But, the Warcats seem to reduce image quality very much, so I'm sticking with the NGO's.

    Thanks, Regeneration.

    yea,, I'm a noob

I downloaded them, but not installed yet. Q's
    1. Does it use CCC, or can I get rid of Netframe works???
    2. I noticed there is an ultra ver. Is the choice during setup???
    Thanx

Unfortunately, these drivers didn't perform very well with my ASUS x800XL :(

3D Mark score dropped from high 4000's to high 3000's (don't remember exact scores).

Framerate in Call of Cthulhu - Dark Corners of the Earth dropped from 70 fps to 40-50 fps :(

Gonna tryout Omega drivers, but I suspect they wont be much better either. I guess I'm stuck with ASUS drivers :(

//Edit: Omega Drivers 3DMark05 score is even worse - only 3253 3DMarks. I guess ASUS drivers are the best :)

    Love These Drivers!

    Mike,
    1) No need for CCC. It comes with the classic control panel and has the option to install ATI Tray Tools

    2) Ultra is a choice during install for cards with 256MB+
