both games are fun GRID have online unlocked for pirated ( my game is ) and Shift have more simulation and options on car...Grid ir more an arcade game, and dont have speed sensibility compared 100Km to 300Km...Shft have... My fot is for Shift, this game kick Forza, Gran Turismo and GRID.. My second game is GRID Third is Gran Turismo ( im play this on Dreamcast - bleemcast ).
Shift as it has the best incar driving experience of any game i've tryed, and wont be beaten easy when it comes to that view, it also just feels much more fun than Grid in career mode. Grid is good for a drunken time trial or drift with mates. Neither isn't an answer eclap, thats like saying Forza in a GT5 thread
-Undecided Grid (with mods) looks awesome but I think that shift looks better in term of "track realism". Car are better done in grid IMO (shift's cars liveries are a bit in low rez). We will see if shift is mod-friendly. The handling in Grid is more "immediate fun" than Shift, but now that I've heard about this "oversteer" bug in Shift and that I can finally handle the cars correctly with my x360 pad, I find the EA game extremely fun to play. Online: Grid was full of cheaters (the "ebay car" trick), and finding a correct race was hard. Online chat between races was really limited. I didn't try Shift's online mode yet.
Gameplaywise they are both very good and pretty close to me. And needless to say they both look stunning! But grid's lack of setting up the car and rather limited customizing are big minus while shift's long loading times followed by pre-race car show off sequence really turn off my racing mood sometimes. So I'd rate both games pretty much "equal" personally.
Grid is an old game compared to NFS shift. and if we look closer the NFS Shift was made the same like Grid. i prefer Grid. the crashes are more realistic there..
i say grid, because shift requires 3times more pc horsepower to run at full graphics... and its almost always better to play older game at full graphics and no lag, instead of newest game on lowest graphics and still lag. p.s. grid - max graphics 60fps.thats what i get. tried shift demo - max graphics with lowest shadows - 14fps...lowest graphics - 25fps. f + sh.. :>
Played the Shift demo - hated it. GRID is much better. Trackmania United Forever beats them both tho...
masterchiefx2 also thinks Far Cry2 looks awful too, so its obvious he frequently forgets his white stick I'm assuming he thinks sunlight equals bad graphics or something, i hate sunny days, the world just looks so washed out lol. I'd love to know what he thinks is good graphics. Dirt/Grid and NFS Shift are the only good looking racing games on the PC, the rest are either very basic like GTR or look like cartoons Burnout Paradise/Sega Rally. Trackmania Nations isn't a racing game, its Micro Machines with better graphics.
