nforce Unified Remix 8.22 4.0

just finished this pack, contains latest nf2 ethernet drivers (4.71) and a new inf file IDE SW 6.24 (originally 6.21 but name changed due to changes inside)

this is the ide driver usually with andyr's remix and after going over it i found alot of inconsistancies including the fact that the read cache options were missing and also there was unessary amd64 entries (it'll install on amd64 anyway)

so without anymore yapping, here it is

first post last version was 8.22 3.0, this is 8.22 4.0

i got someone to send me andyr's hacked files and hacked em myself and now they work ok, unlike his set which is missing options and performance

 

I tried just the Ethernet driver from this set, and all hell broke loose. Was getting 60 to 80% ping loss. What does this thing install BEFORE we actually can click on the stuff such as Ethernet or IDE? I wanna know so I can uninstall it. Thx.

uninstalled drivers through control panel. rebooted in safe mode and used driver cleaner pro to clean the remains. then I used cab cleaner and it encountered an error for the first time ever. computer shuts down and then ATTEMPTS to reboot. of course it can't . it says can't boot boot.ini hal/32.dll (something like that) missing or corrupt. WHAT DO I DO!?

 

see this is why i say cab cleaner is more dangerous then anything

ok ok

get your xp disk out and boot from it

start the install then when it asks if you wanna run the recovery console hit R

then when that loads up type bootcfg and follow the prompts from there

 

If you can boot into safe mode again: search for the file or edit boot.ini
Otherwise you can use the repair console from your windows xp disc to edit the boot.ini

 

shataan, it does nothing but install to c:\nvidia\nforcewin2kxp\8.22

 

K thx. I removed it and reinstalled the 4.71 from Andy and all is good again. Wierd stuff eh? lol

 

try uninstalling and using driver cleaner

there are big changes between the two infs, which might have caused incompatibilities

 

um, installed v3.0 last night and version 4.0 came out , i just install the IDE in v 4.0since the rest are the same at v3.0
All i can say is so far so good, no noticable performance gains but the newer the better ^^. Btw i want to ask what exactly does the read cache do, does it benefit at all if i just have a DVD burner connected to IDE port ? thx for your hard work {HLH}.

 

compare 5.10s 2.6 driver to this ones 2.9 driver
