well in a previous post of mine i linked to nforcehq and actually put up benchmarks of every driver for sata raid and the 8.30/8.33 is the fastest...have benchmarks to prove it.

anyhow with these 15.23 it asked me if i wanted to install the "nvidia network access manager" and i did and after i rebooted i dont see anyway to access it.

you all know about the nvidia network access manager right?
it contains the same technology as that killer n1 (or whatever its called) network card.

it reduces your ping after you set the correct option....i dont see the option to tell you what it is becuase i cant access the actual program eventhough i installed it when it said i could (you know where all the checkmarks are when you install 15.23)

    any suggestions?

Remove nVidia Network Manager after the fact

The nVidia network manager aka is just a rename for the old nVidia Firewall and although it does not appear in the checkboxes when you run the nForce pacakge it asks after it installs the LAN drivers if you want to install it. You should say NO! as well as uncheck the MediaShield which replaces your native IDE drivers and has been known to also create problems. To rid yourself of the nVidia network manager after the fact go to Add/Remove Programs and select nVidia and choose ONLY! to uninstall the nVidia network manager and reboot when prompted. That should get rid of this "buggy" network application which causes conflicts...

NAM also provides the 'teaming' option.

    It works well for me.

    Your mileage may vary.

If you have Vista try the DHCP Broadcast Fix Tool.

    please "RE-READ" my question.

you stated the wrong answer because you mis-read my question.

    i will some it up.

    I WANT NAM
    I WANT MEDIASHIELD
mediashield never causes me any problems
and i havent seen nam since i installed vista

the poster above is correct talking about nam and the "Teaming" option but there is another technology that reduces your ping too.

its the same technology that is used in the "killer n1" gaming network card...i just forget the name.

15.24_nforce_winvista32_international_whql.exe from Italian NVIDIA FTP are corrupted for me... they don't even extract.

these drivers work perfectly fine for me on Vista 64bit.

I notice zero difference between these and the previous set for Vista 64bit that was released august 2007.

I installed everything in the set, mediashield and all.

no problems. but I am not using raid either.

these drivers still don't include SMART monitoring in vista.

I'm having trouble with the teaming option on my M2N-Sli Deluxe. It disables my Internet connection every time I activate it. No change in network adapters(I still have two of them in the same configuration).

Has anyone with a similar chipset(nforce 570sli)got it working?

have been attempting to install the 15.23 package on Vista Ultimate x64 and keep getting hit with a "fatal error" pertaining to the fact that i am trying to run a "32 bit uninstaller" on a 64 bit OS.... this is news to me seeing as for the third time i have downloaded and tried out a file from nvidia.com that has the name of "15.23_nforce_winvista64_international_whql.exe"... wtf?!?

The only way to get "SMART" data to work is to use the built in windows drivers and not install the Nvidia SW IDE driver. I am "guessing" that the Nvidia storage driver makes the drives behave like a SCSI drive thus forcing windows to treat it with NCQ and other features. But as a result, it loses the SMART reading capability.

    SMART Monitoring

Installed all except NAM and have had it running since release.

SMART Monitoring is enabled in nVidia Control Panel. But like almost everything in Geforce + nForce drivers now you have to install system tools to see it.

Also 'I believe' you may need Media Shield installed to access it, but I haven't had issues with the drives so haven't uninstalled it to confirm this.

I would however also like to know what the 'Away Mode' driver is, anyone found any info yet?

Goofy I hate to bother you for this but , I have looked all over for that link , could you be so kind as to post me a link to the link or a link to your post at NFHQ? I would greatly appreciate it because something is not right with my SATA performance , I have 2 10,00rpm raptors and 1 WD SATA II 3.0 and according to the Vista speed test (shown below for the SATA II and one 75 gig Raptor) does not look right to me. Right now my HDD performance is keeping me from a 5.9 score in Vista , the Disk Data Transfer Rate is 5.7.

I am not hip on these HDD speed things but I would like to gather all the info I can before I change drivers. I want to make sure I get the right drivers for my system.

    using the 19.06 right now.

    thanks
