So it's said that console games can't be traded anymore and now a possible price increase. Guess what else will increase a lot in next-gen... :p

    £70 for PS4 games?
    No bloody way.
I'll just make do with my little grey Playstation for a while yet. ;)
Crash Team Racing still runs fine on it.

    So, with DLC = $100.

Someone pass me the lube, I think we're about to get ******.

Whoah, wait a minute - some N64 games in the 90's were $69.99, maybe this isn't that painful after all?

IIRC...if not, someone humbly correct me.

You sir, would be correct. Some of the N64 games were expensive. I believe I paid £50 or so for Rogue Squadron, IIRC.

Guess I should comment on the OP. I would not want to be paying £70 for a PS4 game, no thank you. I hope they won't be that much.

So you buy a game that is permanently registered to your console and you pay a higher premium for it. I'm glad i never intended to get PS4, I felt $60 was too high.

There were games back in the SNES days that were close to $70 Street Fighter 2 Turbo was one of them and them games in the Super Star Wars trilogy were well over $60.
To me this guy Pratcher is a moron for saying PS4 games will be 70 bucks since Sony said otherwise. We dont know about MS on the other hand.

At this point in time, I'm not getting a PS4 anyway. It'll be the new Xbox if I even get a new console so I hope games on either of the next consoles aren't that much.

I remember Chrono Trigger for the SNES were $70 when it first came out and I'm pretty sure Earthbound was at least that since it came in a gigantic box (with stickers!).

I don't like that the price may increase but it doesn't really matter to me when it comes down to it because in the last year or so I've only bought about 4 games at retail price anyways. I think they'll find more and more people doing that as they raise the price, especially with those season passes being 20-30 bucks a pop on top of that, as Loobyluggs said. Not that I've ever bought a season pass. :)

Chances are PC games are still going to stay $10-$20 cheaper so hopefully that won't change.

However, if they turn gaming into Netflix I'm certainly not paying even $20 for a game that I don't own even after it's paid for.

If they make PC games $70, f them. I've accumulated enough to last me a long while anyway.

I still remember getting Phantasy Star on the sega master system for Christmas one year, it was £50 back then lol I do find that most games are vastly expensive these days, thankfully on pc the majority are under £17 in a few months, there's very few games I consider a must have day one purchase.

Keep your pirating nonsense off the forum.

Also, I like the title here "Next-gen console game prices will go up to $70"

When the linked article doesn't make such a bold claim. Sensationalism to get everyone who can't read worked into a frenzy?

Unfortunately I think that's like half of people, not just here but on all forums. They read the title and immediately respond. Half the posts in here completely ignore the fact that it's coming from the opinion of a random analyst, Sony has already shot down the rumor before it started, and that it's said every single game console launch.

everybody has the freedom to choose mr.nonsense...and it's an option which exists and i just mentioned i didn't say something regarding how to do it or forcing someone to do it, so, i don't see you are a moderator having an authority to tell me what to do rich man who bought 1.000 million legit games in his life(or not?). (sorry for the offtopic, bit i was just talking criticizing should be 2-way)

Don't current PS3 and Xbox 360 games carry an RRP of £49.99-£54.99? I've never paid more than £38 for any console game online from ShopTo.net or Amazon and usually much less if you're prepared to wait a week or two before buying. There again if console games are too expensive then there's always the PC where I typically pay £25 at most for more of my games online (Tomb Raider cost me £18 and the forthcoming Resident Evil 6 is just £13).
