Newest Nvidia driver installer always fails

    By any chance did you install the DCH driver and now are trying to install the normal version. If that is the case, the install will fail. If it is the case, the easiest way out is to keep using DCH drivers.

    no i didnt,im sure some windows update messed my system like always :)
    The funny thing is that i can still install older nvidia drivers just fine,only the new ones fail

    if i was you i'd grab win10 media tool and have it do an inplace upgrade to repair any jank.

    Okay here is what i did:

    1.downloaded the newest nvidia driver 436.15
    2.started the installation(waited that installer had extracted driver files to C:/NVIDIA)
    3.copied driver files from C:/NVIDIA to another location
    4.closed the nvidia installer
    5.opened device manager and updated driver manually from there
    6.problem solved
    7.if Nvidia control panel does not work just restart your PC

    Not a perfect solution but its was the only way for me(dont want to reinstall windows just now)

    Not sure if that would help, if at all, but try this - Fix #5.
