Also the reviews are very bad on steam, not even 50% positive.

    Why? because of the servers?

I found this review on Steam is on point:

Amazon owns AWS, the biggest Server farm in the world, they host Netflix, Facebook, Twitter and Twitch.
Yet they can't spare enough server capacity to launch their flagship game.
    Very disappointed.

Yes, meaning most reviews so far don't reflect the actual game.

I mean MMO is always a big commitment and coming out of WoW I don't really want to start a new one. Also, there wasn't a lot of advertising about it, most I heard about is that is fries some new NVIDIA GPUs, at least allegedly. The game looked rather generic from the few gameplay videos. How is the world actually? Does it have a story? How is combat, what is the end game? Is it difficult and who does it focus - solo players or groups?

As for the ques, it happens every time that there are massive ques at the start.

Either way, however the game is, it will die rather quickly unless it gets frequent content updates. That would be something we can find out in a couple of months.

Currently yes, I'd assume the game would be getting a few more positive reviews had the game been launched in a state that is playable when you want to play it.

It's a highly anticipated MMORPG that just released so there's no reason piss and moan. This is not the first time something like this has happened.

Glad I always read user reviews. I just bought Two Worlds 2 which has a 75 on Metacritic which isn't too bad and Angry Joe gave it a decent score but there were a lot of negative Steam user reviews. Games with scores like that pretty much get mostly positive reviews on Steam. Most of the user reviews I read for that game didn't make any sense and some complained about the previous game's online component being offline.

Back in 2012 I remember a lot of people complaining about how people literally complain about everything when it came to video games but today people are actually doing it and it's unreal.

Are there raids? Proper raids, requiring preparation and the sort.

Bought the game, seems fun and addicting.

    I HATE THE QUEUE!

Game seems pretty fun. It's heavily inspired by Elder Scrolls Online when it comes to combat, like a blend between that and Dark Souls. Tons of servers with no wait time now and free character transfers to other servers coming in near future. No monthly fee which is pretty nice, it has a cash shop for cosmetic stuff which I'm not really interested in personally.

Right now I've got an issue with the game crashing to desktop which could be driver related... I'm not sure. The server I'm on currently has no queue time even in more active hours but still plenty of people around so It's not like a ghost town.

My Vega 64 is starting to show it's age. I run the game on low settings for input lag/performance. Game looks great with everything cranked up too.

I'll pass on this one, I can gloss over a lot in MMO's but a game world with little variety is a major turn off for me.

For MMOs if you are not desperate... just wait, 1-2-3 months will be enough to see where is the game going or how the player numbers trend is. I'd like to see how they monetize this too and the post launch content. No point in buying now to spend my time sitting in queues.

Thought so. Past 900,000 now, the numbers keep climbing.

Maybe,..but they also increased the server capacities, from 2000 to 2250 (https://newworldstatus.com/) and since they did this, there are massive framedrop for like a minute every 20 minutes or so. Especially more often in the settlements which are now even unplayable because of very bad frames.

After watching a whole load of videos about this game killing GPU's I did some testing my self.

I have a 3070 so not one of the cards affected but had a look anyway.

The puzzling thing to me is that I can set my cards power limit as low as 60% and there is basically no change in FPS. The card goes from using 270w down to 170w and the GPU clock drops from 2025 to 1750.

That's what I don't get, How can I get the same FPS with the card still at 100% load but with the power limit down and clock speed down?!

Helps my leccy bill so not gonna complain there.

I am yet to test other games and see if I get the same results.
