"Renesas Electronics, a premier provider of advanced semiconductor solutions, today announced a new Universal Serial Bus 3.0 (USB 3.0) hub controller (part number uPD720211) with dual downstream... New USB 3.0 controller by Renesas
Hmm... but can you boot from this controller with USB 3.0 speeds? I have an older PCIe USB 3.0 card with a Renesas controller and my bios doesn't even see the darn thing. It would be nice to be able to run Linux off a USB 3.0 memory stick at high speed. Or use a USB 3.0 stick to install windows... I'm assuming the card I have, a Startech PEXUSB3S2, lacks a proper boot rom chip.
