    pretty likely
but this is also an inflection point because Intel's "Battlemage" will be coming online and unlike AMD, Intel has a huge segment with OEM prebuilt systems.

Intel will also most likely be "buying market share" again with a chance of eating a potential short term loss for a long term gain.

imho, since AMD ditched their most elaborate uArch for RDNA 4, i see them re-doubling down with chiplets and adding new silicon, whether it's "A.I." NPU and/or dedicated RT engine from Xilinx IP - and keeping the cost (relatively) down.

since Intel is the weakest of the three at A.I. i don't see anything other than a potential "me-too", but again that may keep their prices down

AMD RDNA 4 “Radeon RX 8000” GPU Rumors: Navi 48 Around Navi 31 Performance, Navi 44 Between Navi 33 & 32

    -> https://wccftech.com/amd-rdna-4-rad...vi-31-performance-navi-44-between-navi-33-32/

AMD RDNA 4 "Radeon RX 8000" GPUs To Include Top Navi 48 & Mid-Tier Navi 44 Dies, Aiming The Perf/$ Segment

Note: This is not an April Fool's post but it is tagged as a rumor so take the information with a grain of salt.

The rumor comes from @All_The_Watts who posted a very cryptic message over at social platform, X. The post talks about two next-gen AMD GPUs based on the RDNA 4 graphics architecture which are supposedly going to power the Radeon RX 8000 graphics card family.
Now there is limited info regarding Navi 4 available but two SKUs have already been spotted under the "GFX12" family so it looks like these two SKUs are in the early testing phase.
    The rumor is straightforward:

    • RDNA 3 (Navi 31 Top) > RDNA 4 Navi 48 (Top) > RDNA 3 Navi 31 (Cut)
    • RDNA 3 (Navi 32 Top) > RDNA 4 Navi 44 (Top) > RDNA 3 Navi 33 (Top)
So first up, we have the AMD Navi 48 GPU, the supposedly top RDNA 4 GPU die. This GPU is said to be slower than the top Navi 31 die which is used on the Radeon RX 7900 XTX (Navi 31 XTX) but will be faster than the cut-down Navi 31 GPU die featured on the Radeon RX 7900 GRE.
This should put the performance of the next-gen Navi 48 GPU around GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER and the Radeon RX 7900 XT.

I think the pricing is more interesting. For a 500$ what is nvidia currently offering that is a steal. 5070 wont be released until 2025 most likely.

Wanted to get 7900GRE now that memory can be overclocked. It can be fast as 4070ti. Its worth 535Eur but i guess im waiting for RDNA4 now. :p

If you say so. Looking at that graph 4070 is not even in the same league.

I guess thats fake news HU is so biased. :D

April fools joke is high on my mind.

but generally speaking, if the new RDNA4 Navi 48 is that weak that doesn't stop them from making a high-end card that's competitive.

both AMD and Nvidia have released dual die gpu's in the past with the AMD being a bit more advanced with the integration - the Nvidia was basically an internal SLI - but now with Infinity fabric using the exact same process (on a smaller scale) as the MI300 you can (theoretically) run as many Navi 48 dies as you want,
plus now with the four slot gpus being common there's going to be zero market resistance at the high end

and, as we know, it'd be very strange and uncommon for rumors about amd not to be true.

I agree, not the same leagure if we're talking 1440p max. Go buy yourself a 550 eur card that'll win at medium settings if you wish....

Is that all you got? Cyberpunk and Alan Wake 2 RT benchmarks? Ofc nvidia gonna pull on top its their sponsored tittles. Graph above is 12 game avarage performance and 4070 isnt even close to 7900GRE costing the same.

if you're gonna be casually ignoring the best looking games out there now, please refer to my last sentence about buying a 550eur card for medium settings, you're free to do so. don't forget to ignore the fact that fsr2q looks worse than dlssb too.

    ok boys

both of your are right in certain aspects.
on the 4070 i agree that the GRE is a better card, but the 4070S makes an excellent case with new pricing and higher perf.

CP2077 is a cross i'm bearing at 4K as it looks freaking incredible but RT dong slaps me in the face
this is the exception that proves the rule as far as games i like playing, most i play are very playable @ 4k w/ RT
so most of the time i ditch RT for the perf. hit and all of the time in CP2077

What are you talking about? I finished Alan Wake 2 ultra settings even on my 6800xt at 100fps without RT. How did you play it? At 40fps base + with frame generation + RT? Holy what a experience.

You are forgeting your 4070S is loosing to 7900GRE in Rachet when RT is enabled + max settings.

Look at this its already swapping to system ram. I would never buy a 12gb vram gpu for my 1440p ultrawide.

    no question
that's why i saved up for the 7900XT which drives my uw.
even though i have a 7900XTX on my main (4k) system the uw is my gaming rig and @ 1440p uw i slay. i'm already capped by my 144Hz monitor
so i'm saving for the new gen 240Hz OLED now they've dropped in price
    but... most are using 16:9

seriously, dude, are you trolling here ?
this is our conversation from like a few days ago, and you still insist on quoting fake news yt channels........
    https://forums.guru3d.com/threads/the-vram-debate.447636/page-49#post-6219424
4070s will demolish a 7900gre in r&c, unless you find a fake news channel like you like to do

and yes, alan wake 2 runs great with path tracing high, with dlss3 balanced I'm locking 85 fps 99% of the time, even in foresty areas. It's much more common to see +100fps when you unlock the framerate, than it is to see mid-70s (which are fine btw), but I guess you only like videos that are made specifically for you and ignore anything else, even if it's pcgh, one of the best gpu review sites in the world.
be happy that you dodged that 7900gre card, cause for 50 eur more, 4070S rips it to pieces in terms of image quality settings.
