So the "rumours" that RDNA3 will be indeed an MCM design (and which I have found from the beginning to be true) are slowly being confirmed even if there were some naysayers stating otherwise ?
Yepp.... RDNA3 will be a real kicker, but also a power-hungry monster (not that NV will be better in that department).

No real progress, if we have one then we will have 200tW GPUs capable of todays 350tW ones.
No hiden gems in the drawer ;)
400tW then 500tW and what's next? PSU Rack in the attic o_O

What we need is progress in getting a supply out to our retailers so scalping will be a thing of the past.

250-300€ bracket will be 3050ti 4gb and 6600 4gb. Are you interested in those? Seems pretty underwhelming.

AMD FSR Based on Modified Lanczos Upscaler, Can Be Enabled On NVIDIA GPUs Using Control Panel For Similar Results In Games

AMD's FSR has received a positive response across the gaming and tech community for bringing an open-source solution that rivals NVIDIA and is hardware agnostic (in a way).
AMD FSR runs on both, NVIDIA GeForce and AMD Radeon GPUs and several developers have shown just how easy it is to implement within games though it looks like people digging through the source code have found out that the tech behind FSR
might be a little too similar to something that NVIDIA has offered in its control panel for a while now.
As discovered by Alexander Battaglia of Digital Foundry, the AMD FSR (FidelityFX Super Resolution) technology is based on the Lanczos upscale, albeit, a modified version of it.
The FSR algorithm is actually composed of two main passes, EASU (Edge-Adaptive Spatial Upsampling) and RCAS (Robust Contrast-Adaptive Sharpening).
The EASU pass provides spatial only scaling at a relatively low cost & which makes it appropriate for lower-end GPUs on desktops and laptops.

Tbh we should get console level performance at that price point. But nar we ain't there. Barely touching PS5... Not even gonna talk about series x which is in between 6700 xt and 6800 in terms of specs. But of course they can be utilized better.

Same here. Have this game just because I wanted to test FSR... not that I needed it lol.... but in the ultra quality mode it is indistinguishable to native.

Hmmmh might get that game and test it later on. Will have way too much time to play games soon. As my partner goes to Dubai for 6 months...

AMD Instinct MI300 GPU with four chiplets

Just recently there was a leak revealing the configuration of the MI200 graphics processor. The leaks from the ROCm software update suggest that the accelerator offers 110 Compute Units. What isn’t quite clear is whether this configuration refers to the whole card or just a single graphics chiplet.

Coelacanth’s Dream has a lengthy post (in Japanese) on the subject. It’s speculated whether the GPU ID string of GFX90A_110 describes the configuration of the full MI200 accelerator or just one chiplet, which means either 220 CUs (2x 110) or 110 CUs (2x 55).

While the speculation on MI200 accelerator continues, @Kepler_L2 reaffirms previous rumors that MI300 will feature twice as many GPU dies as MI200. What this means is that the future of AMD accelerators based on CDNA architectures is going to continue using MCM design with an increasing number of GCD (Graphics Complex Die) or graphics tiles/chiplets.

    MI300 will feature 4 GCDs

    — Kepler (@Kepler_L2) September 7, 2021

The codename of MI300’s GPU is not known yet, but it is likely going to adopt a name after another giant star, such as Rigel or Antares.

Sony PlayStation 5 Pro Targetting Late 2023-2024 Launch, Pricing at Around $600-$700 Premium 8K Gaming Segment

Sony is also planning to refresh its own PlayStation 5 console with a Pro variant that will tackle Microsoft's Xbox Series X/S refresh planned sometime around late 2023-2024.
The new console would pack a new AMD SOC featuring higher performance but being a Pro console, Sony is very likely to position it at the premium 4K/8K gaming segment.

Sony's PlayStation 5 Pro Rumored For Late 2023-2024 With Pricing Up To $700 US, Aiming Premium 4K/8K Gaming Segment

The leak starts off by stating a few gaming announcements that we can expect at Sony's PlayStation showcase event this week.
The following titles may or may not be present during the showcase and are as follows:

    • God of War (Game Teaser/Trailer)
    • Gran Turismo (Gameplay Trailer)
    • Stray (Game Trailer)
    • Call of Duty: Vanguard (New Gameplay)
    • TLOU: Factions (Rumor)

Tom (MLID) states that these are just a few titles that he was able to confirm from his sources and that there are a few surprises reveals expected too. But the main leak covers the PlayStation 5 Pro which may definitely not be a part of the Showcase event this year since the console is still far from launch. It is stated that Sony is indeed working on the PlayStation 5 Pro which would be a higher & more premium segmented variant of the existing console.
Though no specifications were stated, it looks like the console will offer a decent boost in performance, enough to entice those who waited for a proper generational upgrade over their PS4 Pro or older PS4 to make the jump.

The Sony PlayStation 5 Pro console is expected to launch in late 2023-2024 and will feature a price of around $600-$700 US which is around 75% higher than the base variant of the PlayStation 5.
The original PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 4 Pro base variants were priced at $399 US while the Slim PS4 retailed for $299 US. The increase in price is likely due to increasing manufacturing cost & what the company learned from its PlayStation 4 Pro launch.
To make a profit off the Pro, Sony will have to sell the console at a higher price to get its return otherwise every unit they would sell would be at a loss if the company plans to shift to a brand new SOC which seems to be the case.

There are always "whales" willing to drop big bucks on more expensive and flashy hardware even in the console space. They always have the cheaper models avaliable to those who don't care or who can't afford it. It's not like they don't have a cheaper model.

I just HIGHLY doubt it will be 8K capable in gaming and will more than likely rely heavily on upscaling to reach anywhere near this resolution. It will more than likely be 8K video capable for streaming and disc content (blu ray 2.0?) or we will begin to see A LOT more 30fps titles even with newer hardware. This could be where AMD FSR start making a difference with newer AMD hardware rumoured to have some form of ML based hardware which will probably be used for AMD FSR 2.0?
