That would likely mean that XT variant has 72 CUs, XTX 80 CUs and some lower cut 64CUs. Then there would be Navi 22 with total 60CUs and its own specific cut-downs.

But I would not be surprised if full GPU had 96 or 100 CUs depending on arrangement.

This is an indeed very different launch than previous amd cards. Have a feeling we wont know exact specs until day its announced.

So the +15% over 2080Ti might be true... but not for the XTX, maybe the 6700...

I am just excited to see what AMD delivers this time around. In a long time I am actually excited. 5700 xt was a nice card but ofc it was nowhere near highend. And before that I did own 7970, 5870, 290x, Vega 64. Even had fury for a little while in my then partners machine. 980ti in between and now I have 980 to tide me over till rdna2 since 3080 I just don't even wanna try to order. And 2060 in my current partners pc which is a nice card tbh.

5700 XT is damn good for 1080p. Reasonable for 60fps+ gaming on 1440p. And likely will provide good longevity for 2560x1080 ultra-wide screens.

It is. That is why I did recommend it to a friend when she was getting a card for 1080p. But since I upgraded from 16:9 1440p screen to 32:9 1440p screen ah well. RDNA2 might be able to run this proper for gaming :D I've been playing world of tanks @ 37fps on 980 feels bad man.

I play a lot of RPG and MMO type games, so I play 4K@60 with my 5700XT. Plus a couple of the more gfx intensive, I do some res scaling + CAS, usually at 85%.

    Or 80CUs with SMT = 160CUs Monster 1.5x 3090 :p -> Only 699€
And 60% Market share in 6 months.....

PPL returning 3080/3090 to stores & buys Big Navi

There is no SMT, just posiblity of different SIMD arrangements as in those older RDNA patents that enable different SIMD count than 64 per CU. But I do not think that will be needed this generation. For DXR limiting factor is TMU throughput, not SIMD. And we do not know actual SIMD utilization in pure ray check work.
If it is something like 25~50%, AMD can just throw more TMUs in future generation. If it is like 75~100% then those different SIMD arrangements may come handy.

Just compared the scores from the AMD "teaser" included in the ZEN3 premiere and .... well.... I am honestly disappointed. Found e.g. Gears5 on the RX6*** series roughly 10% slower in DX12 mode vs 3080.... Borderlands 3 I wasn't able to compare cause in a quick search found benchmarks on TPU but //// DX11 mode. So it would be comparing DX11 vs DX12 which is not fair. But there the sneak preview RX6xxx series was also ca 10% slower.

I really hope they will do a one up kinda like they did with 5950..... presented 5900 in full glory crushing intel in everything.... and then.... oh! guys ! btw.... If ya want the highest and best.... here ya go -- 5950!

That could happen. No where in the slides it shows 6900xt but a rx6000, i think its for a reason. That could very well be 6800xt. Amd isnt stupid. They know we can compare performance to 3080.

In Gears5, navi 73 fps vs 76fps on 3080. In BL3, its basically a tie in few benchmarks I saw, couldn't find a reliable COD:MW benchmarks yet.

85-90fps depending on the reviewer and cpu used for the 3080. Its a tie.

Borderlands 3 as I understood is also the "Bad Ass" preset versus "Ultra" which is a step down with one or two settings down a notch which is weird but just how it is.
(Probably volumetric and maybe shadow quality so the two big framerate hitters if so which well that makes sense I guess. :p )

CPU and API differences makes it a poor comparison anyway I suppose and there's the Gears5 example too which is more accurate using fancy D3D12 functions and good support for AMD features like async compute in the Coalitions custom UE4 build there.

EDIT: So about as expected then at least with this kinda so-so comparison with various hardware differences but yeah near but not quite 3080 levels, yet?
Possibly close though, will be fun to see what the final results will be here once reviews are out for these cards with the 6800 versus the 3060 or perhaps even the 3070 and then the 6900 to the 3080 as well.

On top of that Zen3 does not win in every game over intel's CPUs used for benchmarking GPUs and often those systems use CPU/memory OC to remove CPU bottleneck.
Then again, even while we can believe Lisa that she held in hands card with GPU nicknamed "Big Navi", she did not state if it was non-XT, XT or XTX.
+Architecture changes => drivers. We know how that goes.

In 3 weeks we get to see real situation.

If these benchmarks are true regarding performance, I'm happy with it. As long as it's priced right, I will buy one.

She had in her hands the "big navi" but there is clearly more than one gpu ready for the 28th. Graph shows rx6000 i think for a reason otherwise full name of the card would be used like 6900. Im expecting they do the same as today with 5900x. The whole show was for that cpu but then at the end they showed the 5950x for the ultimate performance.

Cant wait. Im getting one, maybe not the biggest one but im upgrading thats for sure. :)

I don't really care if its the 6800 or 6900 (i really hope that's the 6800 because that would make nvidia drop prices), price that *demo card* on 549-599€ and there you go. pogchamp ez clap.
