To late mate.
No problem with two threads as they're in separate sub forums and they're both relevant. Anyway, I'm trying not to get excited about this as I'm sure they'll screw it up.
I can hope though
Not necessarily, not everyone reads the frontpage and it more than deserves a mention in here.
Totally, this one deserves its own thread in the Gaming forum.
I hope its not going to be another UT3, while DMDeck16 never looked so good, the game just... was a bit of let down.
Though UT3's Flak cannon is something special imo.
I still really liked UT3 but after 2k4 is was big letdown. I'm just happy they haven't forgotten about the series.
I REALLY hope this more of a successor to 2004 and not to UT3.
I want to be excited for this, but am skeptical coming off of the failure that was UT3. Lets hope Epic learned their lesson and that we get a real Unreal Tournament this time!
As much as I want to look forward to this as UT has always been a favorite of mine. I have little faith that epic will correct the mistakes of UT3. Though now that they sold the Gears of War franchise maybe it will bring back some focus to the ip that put them on the map?
Too many things can go wrong here for me. Even if they get the gameplay right, and as much as I've fallen in love with my ps4 and xbox one, I refuse to play fps games with a controller, which means this would be a PC purchase for me. Being PC, will it be buggy? will it run like crap? Will it be crippled and watered down and simply ported over, full of consolitis like UT3 was?
Too many variables here, not allowing myself to get excited. But it is nice news to hear.
Prob something to show off the new engine..
Indeed. What's better than a new Unreal Tournament game, right?
28 frames per second with Titans in SLi.
yeah, ill be passing on this one if its modernized in the sense of unlocks and leveling up. I perfer the old school days of an even playing field where the only advantage comes from is if you're a faster and more accurate shot than the other guy.
Call me crazy, but imo thats the way it should be.
Ah the old times where everything was unlocked from the beginning and the only thing that could save you was practice. XD
Hehe, I should rephrase myself.
I hope they don't focus on visuals.. Unfortunately with the new UE4 coming out I'm assuming they wanna show off visuals more than relying on gameplay. Coincidence? I mean new engine coming out and all...
Don't get me wrong it looks sweet, just hope its backed up with good gameplay.
Pretty much this.. I played ut99 in clans for years.. Best game ever afaic, 2k4 also a wonderful game.. But do Epic has what it takes to recapture the magic of games made 10+ years ago..?
I want to be positive but after ut3 I'm not so sure.
so are there any screens or videos yet?
If it looks like infiltrator gfx then it will be sick
UT3 wasn't as good as UT2k4 but it was still fun to play. I still play it every so often.
With their attempt at a new Unreal Tournament, graphics are not that important to me. I know they will be showing off the new engine, but it is far more important to focus on mechanics, modes and the things that made UT2004 successful. Graphics should be secondary here.
