Hey guys I'm a digital artist and I've had these two tablet PCs and they've been a huge disappointment to me (Hp Tc1100- Defective digitizer in all models, Toshiba Tecra M7 - Dim screen, awful viewing angles) And I'm in the market for a "new" (within the last 5 years) one and I'm very conflicted on what to get. I've narrowed it down to about 3 choices, but I'm open to other ones, Keep in my mind my budget is about $500 or lower. The 3 I've decided on so far are:

    IBM Thinkpad x61t: 1.x ghz Core 2 duo, 1-4gb of ram, Intel GMA x3100, 12.1in SXGA+ 1400x1050 screen. -Convertible

    Motion Le1700: 1.x ghz Core 2 duo/1.x ghz Core 2 solo, 1-4gb of ram, Intel GMA 950, 12.1in SXGA+ 1400x1050 -Slate

Fijitsu T4220: 1.x ghz Core 2 Duo, 1-4gb of ram, Intel GMA x3100, 12.1in XGA 1024x768 screen. -Convertible

The thing I'm worried about with on the Thinkpad x61 SXGA+ model is a dim and grainy screen as lots of users of it have said, the Le1700 has crap LCD on the early models (Made before September 2008) and it's hard to tell what has the good or what has the bad LCD. I'm not real sure about The Fujitsu but it's screen isnt SXGA+ like the other two, only XGA and I'm worried a bit about build quality.

if anyone has any ideas for other tablets that are in the $500 or lower range PLEASE POST, Has to be Wacom Penabled. Thanks :3

Have a look at the new ASUS eee Slate EP121.
It's a true Windows7 tablet pc with the following specs:

    OS=Windows7 HP
    Display Screen Size=12.1 Inches
Native Screen Resolution=1280 x 800 LED Backlit Display
    Processor Type=Intel Dual Core i5 470UM
    Processor Speed=1.33 GHz
    Processor Cache=3MB L3
Hard Drive Capacity=32 or 64GB SSD
    RAM Size=2 or 4GB
    RAM Type=DDR3
    Optical Drive=None
    Built-in Memory Card Reader=Yes
    Compatible Memory Type=SD; SDHC; SDXC
    USB 2.0 Ports=2
    HDMI Port=1
    Pen Digitizer=Wacom
    Battery Life=3-4hrs avg.

Overall seems like a decent unit. I almost ordered one, but I think I'll wait a bit and see what else is on the horizon, maybe wait for the second revision (if their is one?)

FYI... IT's not cheap tho, it's around $1,000
So over your budget unfortunately :(
