    This driver fixes:
    3.1, Windows 10 RS5 compatibility fix, January , 2019

    The release notes are here:
    https://s3.ap-northeast-2.amazonaws.com/global.semi.static/Samsung_NVMeDriver_InstallationGuide.pdf

    What it fixed for me:
I have 4 Samsung drives in my computer. 1x970EVO Nvme, 2x960EVO Nvme, 1x860EVO Sata.
Windows 10 "October" update caused an issue for me with the Samsung 3.0 drivers that caused my system to get INTERNAL_POWER_ERROR BSODs during boots and when waking the computer from sleep. These drivers have fixed this.
There are threads about this on the Samsung forums and reverting back to default Windows drivers were the best workaround, Microsoft & Samsung's customer support teams were no help and didn't seem to know of the issue when I contacted them.
The drivers have not given me any performance benefits.

What's strange is that I keep getting a "Setup Failed" message trying to install this, and I'm not sure why or how to solve this issue.

Did you install with Admin. rights?

I did try with administrator rights and it failed. Not sure what's causing it. I wonder if Samsung Magician might have anything to do with it. I have an 850 EVO SATA drive along with my 970 Pro. I'll try to see if Samsung Magician is causing the conflict.

Right click on the Samsung_NVM_Express_Driver_3.1.exe go to properties and check in Attributes
if the file is blocked if it is unblock it then run it again.

It wasn't blocked. Still no success installing this and I'm not sure what's keeping me from installing this driver, unless it's something with the installer package itself

I installed it just fine, will report back if I were to run into any issues.

Well, great news. I was finally able to install the 3.1 driver. For some reason, the link on the Guru3D front page gave me the 3.0 driver again, and w/o paying attention, I ended up doing a clean reinstall of the 3.0 driver with a few restarts. After I finally noticed that wasn't the new driver, I went back and ran the installer for the 3.1 driver, which finally completed w/o a hitch! My system asked me to restart and when I checked the Samsung NVMe Controller in the Device Manager, it gave the updated version, 3.1.0.1901. Glad I was able to figure this out. Very strange, but nonetheless fixed successfully, and no issues!

Working OK on PM981. Not sure whether there are any benefits though.
