Between opengl 3.1 (182.52) and AO(185...) i've done the gamer choice.

    Nice !

Just installed them, no issues whatsoever (didn't play any games yet though !)
Everything is as it should, but they don't have the PhysX driver (which I don't mind because I never use it).
Physx can be installed or left from a previous install anyway.

Same Directx performance as the 182.50's it seems.
3DMark 06 (yeah I know it's old but it still does it) results :
    182.50 : 11555
    182.52 : 11575

Very close. I'm curious about the OpenGL but not many games use this atm I think so it'll be a waiter :).
But, new drivers, up to par, with new opengl, thanks Nvida, good good.

Waiting till after the 185's for the rest, as they seem to suck balls.

    Tested on 8800 GTS

Should any games act weird I'll come and post about it.

Well, the GTX275 seems to be just too young to be on the list. "8-Series or newer" is what they really say and mean.

Or NVIDIA may just give up OpenGL support for the GTX275 at all ;)

EDIT: I think these drivers are only the 182.50s with 'a few' OpenGL changes.

Did they optimized for Chronicles of Riddick Dark Athena?

yes they looked ok in riddick, although i still saw some dips to 40 or even 35 in some areas, so im not sure cause someone mentioned that with 185 there are no dips at all...

anyway af still working fine, and they seemed faster than 182.50.

182.50 made almost every game I play crash. Hopefully these don't have that same problem.

185 has been crap for me, fixes SLi in ETW but perf is horrible, some crashing, lower perf, and I noticed GPU accelerated video in MPlayer classic has artifacting. 182 has been a lot better for me... I will try these out once I get home.

    Indeed.

I confirm UT 3 is running flawlessly.

We don't really need this (I mean: we, the gamers)

The practical difference between OpenGL 3.0 and 3.1 is this ARB (arbitrary?) thing whose purpose is to reintroduce "deprecated" (about-to-be abandoned) functions found in 2.0-3.0. So, do not expect any gain using 3.1 capabilities.
I'll wait for the >185.xx, which will :biggun:include 3.1 OGL support.

No game supports OpenGL 3.0 and 3.1 so it isn't useful

Since "The Chronicles of Riddick - Assault on Dark Athena" got the "AO" option...

    it's better sticks with the 185.81w/AO than 182.52 w/OpenGL 3.1

Riddick did plays well with 185.81w/AO's on by far for me~~~

    *P.S. ~ A.A forced off when AO's on...can't do both at the same time...strange~
