Far better quality screens than there previously was.

    Thanks for the update Hilbert!

Yes, doesn't look too bad. With the right work it could be very nice in terms of immersion, I'm curious to see how this turns out.

Yes, the only thing missing would be better quality lighting, should be more shiny if you know what I mean...

It appears flat/dull looking but with time and effort it could look really good.

Yes that's true, occasionally I've had the impression the lighting could be better, as well as noticing it's certainly not ray traced :D (screenshot #5, that office, the couche's right side shadow doesn't look all too well directed at the lamp at the ceiling).

2K should sell Mafia 2 on Steam again.... so people can buy it.... kind of a good idea seeing as 3 is coming out this year.

It's like reflections are missing making the environment dead/flat with no detail.

Makes me think about enb mods to fix that issue should it remain!

I remember trying several different ones for GTA 4 on the PC. Whilst graphics were great, they looked lifeless with no shine or reflections especially at night.

Surely you must of experimented with several mods including the famous enb mods which brought the game to life?

Yes I know what you mean, but I somehow had the impression it was different with the last screenshots we got, but my memory might betray me (or the low res of the screenshots, didn't cross check tbh).

I found the last game a little meh compared to the original, probably because of the less intriguing characters and a weaker story. All the pretty graphics didn't make it a better game. I hope they can somehow capture the magic of the original Mafia. (a game I'd still recommend, even 14 years later)

I'm totally digging the time frame they chose for #3. We don't get many games set in that era.

Yeah, but they had trouble with some copyrighted tracks.
You know old story R* & GTA San Andreas tracks.

The pictures are from XboxOne gameplay,as usual consoles 1st.

Too late for that. As of now, we can only hope for the best. We cannot expect too much out of screenshots.

It is still early and there is time for changes, optimization, graphical improvements, etc.

Otherwise there are always modders and other enthusiasts there to improve games such as enb, sweetfx as well as other texture/graphical mods/enhancements...

Because the old studio from Czech Rep was closed and some members will go to other 2K studio in California.

"In 2015, with the announcement of Mafia III, 2K Czech announced via their website that they will be helping to assist Hangar 13 to develop the game."

So sadly only few members remain from good old team.

Crying about "2017" requirements and having a GTX 690.

Thats as legit as your 2 post count.

The fact games need to be maxed out on launch by some day makes me laugh.

I wouldn't call those high res. They are really compressed too.

But this game still looks gorgeous. And is probably the only AAA title i'll be pre-ordering this year.

The original Mafia is still playable ok 64-bit Windows 10, you just need to enable some legacy components though DISM. A really good thing about the engine is you can alt-tab back to Windpws and the game properly pauses. Many games do not do this. The game even adds a 'zzzz' to say it is paused :).

I'm looking forward to this, hopefully the game is nice and long. It has replay value since playing it differently changes things, at least that's what I recall reading.
