Okay? Sure, could be interesting for comparison. Let me know what you test, I might have that game as well.
I am not sure if game performs better with more RAM. Does it mean it just doesn't perform garbage collection and leave old data on a RAM? Or it actually requires all of it? Cause that would mean massive performance difference, caused by swapping.
I've seen gta online use as much as 18gb on my machine, although apparently i don't have it screenshotted. I have it screenshotted using 16gb though. Just had a look through my various screenshots, and i do have a good deal of games using way more than 8gb, even more than 16. Here is Ghost recon wildlands using over 16gb. Call of duty WWII using nearly 16gb FFXV using nearly 20gb Fallout 4 using over 13gb Assassins creed origins using nearly 16gb
Your screens are of total system memory consumption, i have a few of those games and I have yet to see any use >10GB of system memory.
Well obviously, can't track the application ram consumption in the OSD, but it's running barebone, with nothing else but msi afterburner, hwinfo64, and steam/origin/uplay running in the background. Which of the games do you have ?
I don't know, it depends on what games you play, your settings might also play a role in it and maybe other factors as well. I personally am happy to have 16GB or RAM but others might get by just fine with 8GB. Sure you can, just make sure you run the latest version of MSI AB and select RAM usage in OSD settings. That's how I got the info on the list I posted earlier.
Yes, but that's just the total ram consumption, which is what i'm also listing He wants to know the specific amount of ram the game uses, and you can only see that in task manager Regardless, my system is using about 3gb ram when not running games, so you can just subtract that amount from the numbers on my screenshots^^
Are you sure about this? On my OSD it clearly says "RAM" and not "RAM + Pagefile" I can double check at home but it sounds odd.
FO4, WW2, GTAV. You can do that, just alt-tab and go to task manager and see total for the game exe. It won't be anywhere near 18GB.
Gta 5 online app is using about 12 gb after having played for nearly an hour. It starts off at about 5gb, and then it climbs from there. Reason i'm seeing alot higher ram usage than you, is likely cause i'm using SLI + 4k - both tend to increase ram consumption.
Right By the way, I did all my testing after just launching the game. Division seemed to climb all the time though, the other ones got stable after 30sec (at least that's what it looked like).
Ehhh .. nobody reply to me .. I asked only do my mb supports 8gb single ram stick ? So that I will go for 2x8gb instead of 4x4gb ...
