    hello

Well it has been long time since i log in this forum, now i am back and i need some suggestion from u guys .
    my rig is --
    intel i5 2500k(not oc now)
    intel mobo
    8 gb ddr 3(1200 fsb)
    psu-corsair 550 wt

corrently i am using amd R9 270(2 gb), now i am thinking about nvidia 1050Ti (4 gb)/ 1060(3gb) .. so will be there any bottleneck ? worth for update gpu ? i play in 1920x1080.

    Thanks in advance.

id personally avoid the 1050ti, its castrated with 128bit bus. youll do fine on the 1060, are you able to get the 6gb version? both are 192bit bus, which although isnt 256bit it gives improvement.

Also consider a 980 / 980TI which is on a par. may save you some money and get another 8gb of ddr3, afaik the 10 series needs a uefi bios though... may be wrong on that.

Depends if you want to retain the graphic card long term for a new system, as even a 970 would be good for that setup to get a decent boost.

if you can oc your cpu to 4.5 you'll see a good gain, should be easy, but i dont know your motherboard model.

Try to find 1060GTX at msrp, or go for used 970/980.

i have intel DB75EN motherboard .. i guess my mb will support above suggested cards but will there be any bottleneck if i go for nvidia 1060 6 gb ?

bottleneck is relative. If you set game video settings to LOW, your CPU will bottleneck, if you set it on ULTRA your GPU will bottleneck.

2500k is still a capable CPU. Overclocking it will get your frames more stable. For 60hz monitor it's more than enough. For above 60fps, you might need OC, depending on a game.

As guys suggested for your best bet is Gtx 1060(6gb) / 980Ti. Add on top of it some OC for the CPU ( Ideally 4.2ghz-4.5ghz range ), plus slap extra stick of 8gb Ram and you will be Absolutely fine.

2500k can bottleneck a bit, but we are talking about high fps scenarios (140fps+), which unless you have a high frame rate monitor, shouldn't be a problem either.

As next upgrade, I would suggest going for a 1440p screen, which will further lower any potential "bottleneck" from your CPU.

In any case, the safe bet is 1060 6Gb / 980Ti (DO NOT under any circumstance go for an ex-miner card). Or as a bare minimum 1060 3gb version.

These are two very differently performing cards (the 1060 is much slower.)

"Much" slower only in a situation with very high OC. Besides that good luck finding 980Ti in good condition, most of them will be ex-miner cards.

I would go for a Gtx 970 or 980 if I were you. Damm Miners went and messed-uo the whole Gpu market (even used) cards!

Speaking on performance sake now I can tell you little diffrence between gtx 780 vs 980 I cannot see any substantial gain so you can possibly find yourself a used 780ti? That would be my choice.

I second that! Your best bet right now would be a a second hand GTX 680 / 770 / 960 / 970 or R9 290. Better performance for similar or lower price.

Thank u so much guys for ur thoughts and replies ..
I bought 1060 , 3 gb VR. Now some guys suggested me to increase my ram .. I use 2x4gb g.skill .. I am not sure my Mobo supports 8gb ram stick .. I mean (2x8gb=16) .. I play games at 1080p res and I am happy with it .. but I wanna play at Max settings .. so do I need to update my ram only or CPU+mobo+ram ?

    8gb is enough for gaming.

You have a decent build for 1080p. Get yourself a good AIO Cpu cooler, and overclock that CPU to 4.5ghz. No need to buy a new ram+mobo+cpu.

I disagree. Most of the games I play use more than 10GB RAM on my system. 16GB should be standard.

What games do you have that uses 10GB of ram?

Games like mafia 3,farcry4/5,doom(new one),assaisin creed and upcoming games like metro (new title) .. etc .. and I am not sure my Mobo is capable of high oc .. my Mobo is Intel DB75EN . And I had another question (I know it has 32 GB ram support) do my Mobo supports 2x8 gb = 16 GB ram ? (8 gb stick)

Looks like I was wrong again. Here are a couple I tried and only Division and BF1 hit the 10GB mark.

    PUBG 7240
    Wolf 2 7820
    Grim Dawn 5400
    FC5 8270
    Division 10160
    BF1 9960
    WoW 6500
    DS3 6600
    FFXV 8890

Don't have any of those games to compare, but can't recall seeing any game I own reach over 6gb. But I guess I was wrong here, as some do reach.
