    With this driver i have the same bad results like with all the 9x.xx drivers.

    I dont know why but i have graphic corruptions in FEAR and in Flight Simulator X and other Games.

    The Image Quality is not good like the other 9x.xx driver.

    I rolled back to the 87.08 with good IQ, stable settings and without errors or other bad surprises. The driver is not so "fast" in Benchmarks like the other 9x.xx but its for me the best!

    Installed and running no problem about the same as Forceware 92.91, I can't
    really see any difference so I guess they stay on.

    I beta test software nearly my entire life. And trust me, problems that you see on GeForce you'll also see on Quadro. Jfyi. New CP is ok, i just don't get it why NVIDIA doesn't fix anything at all... They just pile the bugs and problems with each release instead fixing them...

    Driver NVIDIA 9.5.9.7 - give a try

    Hello all,

    I gave a try to the new driver NVIDIA 9.5.9.7 from guru3d.

    My Videocard: A MSI NX 7600 GS AGP with 512 MB VideoRam (DDR2) and heatpipe-cooling (passive cooling).

    While previous driver 9.2.9.1 worked fine, this one let appear the following message, just when starting system:

    "To protect your system from overheating and causing a potential lockup the GPU has lowered its performance to a level that allows continued safe operations. You may notice a performance difference in some applications."

    With driver 9.2.9.1 this message didn't appear. With both drivers GPU temperature inits with 45 °C and stays after working a while at 65 °C.

    Therefore I think that this message is due to the new driver 9.5.9.7. It seems to me that this driver sets temperature limit near 0 °C, in all cases lower than 45 °C - then this message would make sense.

    Does somebody know how I can forbid to driver 9.5.9.7.:
    a) to show this message, and
    b) to lower GPU performance? My email-address is: klaus.will@freenet.de.

    Thank you very much for proceeding :).

    While these are stable drivers, there are too many missing features; so I am back to using the 91.45's which work fine for my card.

    re-edit: actually went back to the 91.31's as the newer drivers are buggy for an older opengl game I play.

    Haven't seen so buggy drivers to date. Very very VERY bad. Bugs are just screaming out of this piece of software.

    - no Transparency AA
    - 8xS FSAA mode tray selection still not fixed (VERY OLD bug)
    - Temperature threshold broken
    - frequency detection borked up (quad data rate instead dual data rate)
    - new CP main menu "icons" trashed and cannot be changed as CP allignment is not remembered
    - opening Video & Television menu produces empty error with title "nvvitvs" (VERY OLD bug)

    Things just pile up. Very bad. I don't get it how the **** they can't fix that for um 3 generations of OFFICIAL driver releases!? Screw G80 and all the stuff hyped around it if you can't get damn software right in the first place. Yeah i'm really pissed. More than it looks from this post.

    Yeah and so have I...thats how i know that these are for Quadro and not Geforce. Just because a driver is unified does not mean it will yield the same results because its not optimized for geforce cards. Run these on the Quadro Plex and they will do what they are MEANT to do.

    You can fix that easy by all drivers that reports GT/GTO

    Just open nv4_disp with notepad and change this line :

    NVIDIA_G71.DEV_0291.1 = "NVIDIA GeForce 7900 GT/GTO

    To :

    NVIDIA_G71.DEV_0291.1 = "NVIDIA GeForce 7900 GT

    Save it and install the driver :)
