EVGA will be releasing updated BIOS's for the other 8800GTs soon according to the thread I linked to on EVGA's Forum.

Thats handy. Hopefully the other manufacturers will follow suit. How the cards made it past testing with fan speeds stuck at 30% ill never know.

With the trade up program & now this... Theres no doubt in my mind why EVGA rules.

Hopefully my 8800 coming next tues will be updated.. If not, seems a simple enough task to do.

Did some initial testing using the lastest Nvidia Beta 169.12 Vista32 & 3D Stress Test. Fans are ramping-up for me as follows....

    Idle - 29%
    70c - 30%
    75c - 35%
    80c - 45%

Also played Bioshock for a while and temps are maxxing at 80c-82c . So I guess if you still want your card to run cooler, Rivatuner is still the answer. I'm leaving mine as is just to see how it goes for a while.

I'm wondering if they did anything else as far as bug fixes or performance enhancements though. BIOS went from 62.92.12.XX.XX to 62.92.16.XX.
