You have DX10 hardware and Vista takes advantage of that in future games. Offcourse dx9 runs faster on your card, your card is way faster.
But I want you to run a dx10 game on a dx9 card, and tell me if you can :)

    Oh, damn!
This driver don't have OpenGL support! :puke3:
Doom 3, Quake 4, IL2 Shturmovik (in ogl-mode) not run anyway...
    Uninstall it and reinstall 158.18

OpenGL isn't broken, but some games have problems with these. I've tried Prey and it runs fine. Somes games gave nv4_disp blue screen error.
Anyone who plays Oblivion should try these, they give quite a performance boost.

Where can I get the drivers then? I assume there was a link in the first post, but it's gone now. I can't find anywhere else to get them.

EDIT: Nevermind. The megaupload links are working now, whereas they didn't work earlier. Dunno what happened.

These are the best drivers yet for my Vista Media Center PC.

I don't play any games so can't comment on that but for the first time ever, my Media Center is stable when coming out of sleep mode.

All previous drivers almost always give me a black screen after coming out of sleep.

    These things have never failed.

    cheers!

Call Of Duty 2 used DirectX API (but based on totally rebuilded Q3 engine).
I don't remember which API used in Call Of Duty 1
P.S. Sorry for my horrible English :)

    COD vanilla is also Q3

and COD2 is actually build on the COD 1.0 with all the bugs in it as base to start with:behead:

These are superb for me - simply because they get rid of the yellow texture bug (BF2/2142), that plagues a good number of us 8800GTS users.

However, they break S3 (suspend to ram) for me. Anyone got any ideas on that/

In Oblivion on XP these drivers sometimes made white boxes appear when casting spells in 3rd view. 158.19 doesn't do that though.

fan control doesnt work with these drivers no matter what tool you use rivatuner, expertool. The reason you dont hear the fan getting louder is beacuse it doesnt work. I used to be able to hear my fan fire up across the whole house when I raised it to 100% now nothing happens in any tool I use. Temp stays high and no fan getting louder. POS drivers.

call of duty2 uses thier own dx9 proprietary engine which only borrows a few lines of code from q3 engine(much like valves source engine still uses lines of code from quake1 engine which half life 1 was entirely built on), call of duty 1 used the entire q3 opengl engine. all of which idsoftware and carmacks quad core brain still make $ from to this day.

    Alright.

Currently using the latest ones on the Nvidia site for 32-bit.

What are these drivers, where are they from, and are they stable?

I really want to get that out of the way before I do this, because the reaction seems mixed.
