    I don't know if many of the NV owners have seen this yet. ATI just launched some x850 something and crytek did a demo for them. But it looks like it also runs in SM3.0 It's 162mb, I checked it out and it runs. I get vertical line about an inch wide that appear blurry. I've tested many setting but haven’t tried forcing PS2.0 The demo was made to show off ATI's 3Dc compression and object instancing or fake SM3.0 Let me know if anyone can get rid of the blur. I'm running 67.02

    I checked the log file and I get quite a few errors. It looks like it's running in FP16. I also noticed you can't see the water. You only get the lines when the frame has two or more focus points. I wonder if you could import the level file in to farcry, I'll bet it needs the updated compiler. Kinda cool how it's a prequel to Farcry though. I can't wait to see the real SM3.0 stuff crytek is doing, it's going to look and run allot better than this.

    Sounds like its been optimized to ONLY run on x8x00 series.

    optimized to run on a radeon? I don't think optimized and radeon/ATI/X8x00 should be used in the same sentance!

    hmm so what you are saying is that an ati demo wont run on a nvidia card... you do know that the nvidia demos dont run on ati cards either... and i dont think nvidia use 3Dc do they? so maybe that is why? same as the ati cards dont run nvidias demo because of SM3? why are people pissed about this?
    did ati get pissy when the 1.3 patch came out with HDR? no...

    also why do people think SM3 is gonna "look" better than 2.0b? speed increases is about the only thing SM3 will give you,but that seems to be less than first thought too.

    3Dc has been touted by ati for a while now as has SM3 by nvidia,its a choice you make. i own a 6800NU aswell so none of the fanboy stuff ok.

    Any demo from Ati should run on Nvidia Nv4x hardware since they are also SM2b compliant. The Crytek demo allows the option to use 3dc or not. Hence why it also runs on Nvidia cards.

    Ruby also runs on Nvidia hardware as well as other Ati demos.

    The demo does indeed run in a SM3 path for Nvidia nv4x cards. Not really suprising since the demo is using a modified Cryengine which also support SM3.

    no im using x800pro which has 3dc texture compression, and everytime i try to enable it in the demo or in the config the game keeps crashing with exception errors

    dunno who else gets it but i really would like to enable it to see a difference

    using 4.11 official cats

    YOu can fix the water rendering by forcing a r9800pro ID and ticking the Nv40 fix for R420 demos option with 3danalyze.

    When I try to enable 3Dc compression it crashes with an exception error! Anyone knows what that is?
