my son needs some new stuff for about £200 and i havnt been into pc stuff for ages so im looking for advice. atm he has an old amd 4400 and its really showing its age so i want to get him a new motherboard ram 4gb + cpu all budged of course. so long as its fast enough to run minecraft, its fast enough any chance 200 is enough? thanks
Are you planning on reusing the old HDD/video card/...? If so, is the HDD SATA or P-ATA and is the videocard PCI-Express or older AGP interface still?
As you mentioned you gonna need a mobo, cpu and ram at least. I think most reasonable purchase in your case is APU (CPU with integrated GPU). Amd 7850k (CPU + GPU) would cost around 100 euro, add around 50 euro for Motherboard. BE CAREFUL, not all newer motherboard support IDE, only SATA. Check if your CD-ROM and HDDs have SATA port.
