Meanwhile, getting shot 5 times and not dying or dropping to the ground while carrying around like a gajillion bullets for two or three weapons with a rocket launcher strapped to your back is the pinnacle in ultra-realism. The civil war, while there were lines, wasn't nearly the same as it was in the revolutionary war. Shortening the reload time to something more reasonable, while simultaneously leaving it long enough for it to be considered fair and "real enough" is a fair compromise. What's more, muskets weren't the only thing on the battlefield, repeaters not only existed, but were fairly widely available. Revolvers too. Sniper missions still existed, only you had to be close enough that your gun would be accurate. Instead of a mission walking through a mall, killing everyone, it's a mission walking through Georgia and burning it to the ground. Warfare wasn't entirely line-based. There were trenches and fortifications, cannons behind them, hills were used, many charges across open battlefields accomplished. There's plenty of opportunity for intensity and immersion. How is any of that different from every previous COD game?
No rocket launchers and AKs? CoD is becoming the new Madden. Just pump one out every year and watch the chumps eat it up.
doesn't matter how bad it is, it will sell like hotcakes and rake in money. i'd prob do the exact same in their position, it's all business.
