I'll be back!
waiting mode on for update
Friday or Saturday, regardless of whether there are new runtimes later this week as suggested. I believe a minor issue in the recent 2017 runtimes might be resolved.
thatguy91 Hey When will we See an Update!
Thx for you easy package installer!
Still no news for the upcoming update?
He's a busy guy, he'll be around soon enough.
Visual C++ Runtime Installer v55!
Updated the 2013 runtimes.
The 2017 runtimes are rebranded and updated 2015 runtimes, therefore separate installation of 2015 runtimes is not required.
updated the C++ 2013 runtime 12.0.40660.0 --> C++ 2017 runtime 12.0.40664.0
slight changes to the installer and x86/x64 selection; let me know if there are any issues!
Visual C++ Redist Installer V55 - https://1drv.ms/u/s!AmGuHbW3zvrBmbR6U1DjfO5ZY-4LrQ
No newer runtime files for 2017 runtimes.
As always, if people find later C++ runtimes than are included in the installer, PM me.
Also no point in a newer version if there aren't any newer runtimes. The update to the 2013 runtimes is only minor, so I was holding out for newer 2017 runtimes. I have seen an assortment of loose files for 2017 that are newer, but they are essentially beta versions. Also there's the issue that in some cases the files may need to be mixed versions (in terms of core and additional files), I'm not sure how things would respond to that.
Thanx! a bunch!
Nice to see this updated, was a bit confused initially but I noticed you're calling the 2013 updated version 2017 though later on in the post you do also mention that while newer versions exist for the 2017 runtimes it's still something of a beta so it makes sense the existing ones weren't updated until a new stable version is made available.
EDIT: Updating probably mostly just resolves smaller security problems too or well at least between minor build number bumps, perhaps something for the actual C++ software SDK though no harm in running with the latest version available of course since there's no issues with backwards compatibility for most software.
(A few programs bundle specific versions though, Firefox seem to only use the included files and trying to remove that just breaks it.)
Something is wrong with v55 for me, it will only install x86 versions and not x64, I tried with clean install / restarting PC and no go, v54 works fine, I have Windows 10 x64 Anniversary build 14393.1480
Windows 10 x64 -- 10.0.15063 Build 15063
Both x86 and x64 version installed and are indicated in the " Uninstall or change a program " location.
Always nice to have this; thanks for the update.
updated the C++ 2013 runtime 12.0.40660.0 --> C++ 2013 runtime 12.0.40664.0
x64 not installing for me either, only x86.
I can provide more technical info if you let me know what you want to know.
