Looking to build a new computer and I haven't been as involved with computers in the last couple of years. this is what I'm thinking EVGA mobo - EVGA P55 LE Intel - 1156 i5 Mushkin - Blackline 6GB (3 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 The rest I have, case, power supply, ssd, ect The couple of questions I have is quad or dual core? These are all with in $10 of each other. Leaning towards the 760 Dual Core i5-655K Core i5-660 Core i5-661 Quad Core i5-750 Core i5-760 i mostly game and watch blue-ray on my computer.
I did some reading and it sounds like that's the one to go with. The only thing I can see i would like about the dual cores is the image sharpening.
An EVGA P55LE and an Intel i5-760, you say? Only the super coolest people ever would dare to do that combo. *wink* http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.565905
great combo mate, 760's overclock like champions.. i've seen some hitting like 4.4 on air.. just get a good cooler such as a silver arrow and bang ur set!
760 is a great cpu choice. I would recommend going for either a 4gb or 8gb kit on the ram side as the board you want to use is dual channel. The 6gb kits are intended for triple channel on the X58 boards.
I upgraded just recently to this build -- and I'm loving it. My old rig wasn't a slouch (eVga 780i ftw, q6700, 8gb ddr2 1066)... but this one is making me happier I upgraded every day. Now, I've had this less than 2 weeks and don't ususally give out upgrade advice unasked... but this really tied it all together (it's so silent that I catch myself continually checking to see if it's on). http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835181010
