For how much you spent (I'm guessing $230 ?) its a very nice build. You pretty much built yourself something comparable to a xbox 360 or a PS3. The only thing i would advise is too buy another 2gb of ram. Your board supports 1066 ddr2 which you can buy 4gb (2x2) on newegg for around $100.
Overclocking will show no gains as my GPU is a bottleneck, correct me if i am wrong , coz my CPU went easily to 3.5ghz!!
Something obnoxious guys, this motherboard(P5KPL-AM SE) doesn't have a port to get my HP LaserJet 1100 running, is it normal? I mean do i have to buy a Printer to USB converter(if there exists any) to run this printer? Need quick help guys, so i am waiting!
^Its kinda old, and it has something bigger than a VGA port, rather much big!! It looks like this: http://www.horrorseek.com/home/halloween/wolfstone/Controllers/cbscon_PC_ParallelPort.jpg So does a converter exist which could change it into USB?
Looks like parallel connector So you need something like this http://tekgems.com/Products/tg-la-par03-c36m.htm
Yeah, that's a Printer Port, or Parallel port as it's also known. You could buy something like this, which is a PP to USB adapter which should let you run that old printer.
I'm suprised you saw no gains, at a res of 1024x768, you should see some especially in games like BC2
^^I just tried Crysis, which got 3 frames increment and Dirt 2 got 5 FPS increment, thats the only one tried!!
yeh nice vid, and what I meant is a 3 FPS incriment from overclocking is quite a bit, I went from stock to 3.8Ghz and only got about 4FPS, the change from my phenom 9850 was the big one, bringing a 13 FPS incriment
