May be :) The one problem is I have last beta version of Catalyst + CCC (8.40) and there are no such option at all (disappeared) :) I don't know is it will be removed in next releases or not.

No. I have it because I have signed NDA (with ATI) and have access to last releases of CCC and Catalyst for developing purpose.

    how do I keep ratio?

when i select screen res of 1024x768. it stretches the picture to my full screen res of 1680x1050. is there any way of getting it to keep the selected size and place black borders around it?

Have you tried launching whatever application you want to have displayed at 1024*768 in windowed mode?

yes and it does work, but I want the GC driver to do it for me like my Nv card used to.

I used the CCP but that didn't work at all so am trying this ATI tool but cannot select the option as its grayed out, aka unselectable.

Yes and No. I'm sure you tried to set it up via CCC and ATI claims this should work with standard compliant TFT monitors. However on the majority of displays the output won't keep aspect ratio and as this feature works with Nvidia cards on any display, I think ATI should simply include a workaround as well. People just don't care if the bug is in the hardware or not, so letting us alone with this issue and claiming it is not Catalysts fault just seems pedantic to me.

BTW, I doubt Ray Adams can help us along, so file a bug report to ATI if you are unhappy, maybe they will wake up when their mailboxes explode. For now ATI users should take care of hardware sided aspect ratio settings via On-screen display when buying a new TFT monitor.

    I thought as much.

I think its pretty ignorant of ATI to not include better ratio control. blaming monitor manufactures is a poor excuses. And as far as I have read, this is no new issue, ts always been like this with the CCC. Surly others would have sent in bug reports about this problem, they must be simply ignoring it.

If I change the setting of "Video & Colors\Video Overlay\Deinterlacing\Select Deinterlacing Method" it always falls back to "Autodetect" when I reboot.

Another thing that would be nice to have is AVIVO registry tweaks for XP not only for Vista. Specifically the DWORDS "TrDenoise" and "DXVA_DetailEnhance" would be great. These need to be put into "0000" for XP instead of 0000\UMD\DXVA as in Vista.

Anyway thanks for this great tool. If you hadn't made it I would probably have sent my Radeon back on day one of using CCC and gone back to Nvidia. Keep up the good work.

EDIT: also noticed a typo in ATT: Wave should be Weave.

Rename "Vista Avivo.dtb" to "XP Avivo.dtb" and change last number 3 (for example 0,0,3,) to 0,0,0,

    This is catalyst behavior
