New ATI Windows 7 WHQL cert. Drivers ver 8.612!!!

Well my card works perfectly fine for the games i play, its just a waste to spend even that money on a new card for no reason.

 

I thought the 9.5’s for Windows 7 were already out -

I'll have to go back to Win7 and look at the CCC version...think it said 9.4 still....would make sense for it to be 9.5 since the Vista and Win7 driver is unified..

 

Yes it was still 9.4 for me, I'm on Vista at the moment unfortunately due to PB. I'm so very close to just giving up and switching though.

 

I’m about to do a clean install of Windows 7 64-bit/RC again this time with the 8.612/9.5’s, but so far I haven’t had any problems with the 9.4’s and my 4870X2.

 

Working fine on Vista x32 here at work after some modding

 

Huh? These are WDDM 1.1 drivers how can they possibly work on Vista properly?

What i wanna know is that if the AVIVO 64 bit works or not for other people. I have installed it manually as it was included in the package but it doesn't seem to work (gpu load 0 when converting videos).

yer my idle temps esed to be around 35c in vista now in windows 7 saying 46c!!!!!!!!!!

 

Just downloaded directly from AMD's ATI driver website. Ran it as an admin JUST to be sure - and it went in without a hitch (manually didn't install the HDMI audio driver as I have no need for it).



Mine says Cat9.4 just fine. Don't know if that was still an issue for anyone.

 

It is still using Cat9.4, 9.5 is due out next week.
