    BC2 STILL f**ked.

It's starting to get annoying that one of the biggest releases of the year STILL requires you to switch resolutions in order to get rid of the white lines and takes 4 times longer to load than Nvidia

Get it together ATI, this is distinctly unacceptable.

I don't have to switch resolutions nor do I get long loading times.

The best luck I've had with the game and CrossFire (5850's and 5770's) has been the 10.3a drivers. Xfire application profiles are not installed either as that seems to mess it up. I doubt your load times have anything to do with your video cards. Your system isn't very normal either, very beefy. It could boil down to a latency issue with RAM, be it system or on an expansion card or a combination of both.

It's not ATI related...i get less than 10 seconds to load BC2...it's the system combination...mobo, ram, cpu and HDD...something dont works as fast as something else, and making some kind of wait to another...or windows-directx-registry fault...u should try registry cleaner, and defragment registry and disk...

Maybe the white lines are a 5870CF thing, I don't know for sure.

The loading time is a known problem and it is the drivers JFYI. Something to do with texture caching and how the ATI driver handles it.

10 secs is a long time compared to the 1 sec it takes on Nvidia hardware.

The ogl 4.0 previews did though. The exe file for these was originally named 7Zsfxnew.exe which looks dodgy imo.

Most likely a merger of the ogl and d3d files from the 10.3bs + ogl 4.0.

Gonna do abit of testing before confirming it though

Post FPS benchmark comparisons with screenshot in Warhead and Metro2033, otherwise I say BS & placebo.

Not perfect? how come i play it perfect with a single 5850 card, i never get below 40... it stays around 45-51fps, and that's without ANY mods... (dunno if you use mods) if so ignore this xD

To me both 10.5 beta and 10.4b have brought certain improvement in Metro 2033, although I cannot speak in terms of FPS. With tesselation activated (DOF switched off) my crossfire runs the game at about 40 and above. Only in physics intensive scenes such as explosions do the FPS drop under 20. This is certainly better than all earlier drivers.

Of course they do! 200% FPS INCREASE!!!!!!!!!!

2 day countdown until the real reasons why these drivers are no good/fake.

Will test them. 10.5 works great for me, but the OC is fcked up.

Thanks and plus, a RS Mirror:

    Fairplay.

Directly comparing BFBC2 with the 10.5 betas is quite interesting. Speed wise they are similar but the 10.4bs seem to be smoother around smoke (no slow down compared to slowdown = an improvement). These also don't have texture popup which is apparent in the 10.5betas for me so I'll try a few other games and see if the same difference is there.

Best game I've got for testing catalyst drivers at the moment is universe at war as anything below 10.3 is completely fine, then half the newer set of betas/preview drivers crash it, give corruption etc.
