I got my funds together to replace my 5750 GPU and notice the 6950 1GB series was released and wanted to know if they would be a better car for my resolution or should I go on and get the 2GB version of the 6950. I also replaced my Monitor about a month ago so I went from a 17inch widescreen LCD monitor to a 20inch widescreen LCD monitor. Also here is the link for the 1GB version. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150523. Also here is the link for the 2GB version. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150518. So what yall think about this. Any and all advice will be welcomed. Thanks.

2GB of Video Memory is overrated unless you're running multiple screen setups while gaming at immense resolutions.

For that resolution I'd go for the 1GB version. The thing though is, the 1GB version cannot be unlocked to the 6970. Also, for that price you have the GTX560 which is a great card aswell.

If you're fine with nVidia it's better to go with the GTX 560 Ti.

Then go with a 6950 1 GB. Or go with a 6870, at that resolution, you don't need anything extreme.

At 1600x900, a 5750 should be enough since a 5770 can play most games at 1680x1050. If you want a faster gpu, a 6870 is a very good card but playing below 1920x1080 is a waste of the cards performance imo.
