I have a Toshiba Satillite Laptop and Windows Vista OS . My windows explorer keeps crashing like every couple of minutes. I have Avast antivirus, and I have Malware bytes on it so if those are doing their jobs I do not believe I have any viruses. What else could it be. I had my laptop gone over and fixed last fall so this is a new thing and really irritating because I have to keep restarting my windows explorer and am unable to do anything in the explorer, like look at my files etc. Please help. Thank you. Forgive me if I posted this on the wrong forum, I wasnt sure where it belonged.

Unless if you didn't update them often.

Is this a trusted repair shop?
Some shops actually do...'things', so that they can have return customers, if you know what I mean.

This may be a stupid question, but do you have restore partition or the ability to make a set of restore disks???

Take you hard drive out and put it in a desktop computer-as a data drive.

You can now retrieve your pic's/documents/video's/data bases...

Now just put back the hard drive and reload.

It should be just like when u first opened it.

If you do this, make sure to download all the current drivers for your laptop-on manufacturers website.

Also have the disks of any programs you had on there, office, games....

I could answer more if I knew the exact model number.
