Hey i just purchased a DFI lanparty NF4 SLI DR motherboard and a athlon 64 3000 and a geforce 7800 GTX when i start it up it restarts when it goes into windows loading screen then when i shut it off and turned it back on i didnt even get a boot screen what should i so?
Fill that------------------------------------------------> What PSU u have. how many ampers with +12V???
did you reinstall windows or just use your old install? cause if you did use the old install man.. are you dumb? all your old drivers are going to give you hell a conflicts.. reinstall fresh or something..
I filled the list out with all my specs. My drivers have nothing to do with it on my HD when it doesnt even boot up.
this is what its telling me when it does boot up http://www.we-todd-did-racing.com/wetoddimage.wtdr?i=wMTA3NzE0MjZzNDEzZGZkMzF5NTQx this is the inside of my PC http://www.we-todd-did-racing.com/wetoddimage.wtdr?i=wMTA3NzE0MzZzNDEzZGZkMzF5NTQx
Check your RAM is in place and located correctly for Single or Dual channel operation. Try clearing the CMOS and load the default settings. But do adjust any settings you know are not right on default. A BIOS flash may help as well if it's a MB device support issue.
I just did that and still nothing it turns on now all the time but when its about to load windows it doesnt load and it freezes and restarts.
Boot in safe mode and remove the XP auto restart. Then see if you get a Blue screen. If so note what it says and post it here for more help. Make sure your BIOS settings are correct. Also did you reinstall XP or not ?.
Ok i took some picture maybe this will help i noticed that my power supply plug that plugs into the motherboard doesnt cover all the plugins that are available would this cause a problem here are some pictures http://www.we-todd-did-racing.com/wetoddimage.wtdr?i=wMTA3NzIxMTZzNDEzZGZkMzF5NTQx http://www.we-todd-did-racing.com/wetoddimage.wtdr?i=wMTA3NzIxMjZzNDEzZGZkMzF5NTQx http://www.we-todd-did-racing.com/wetoddimage.wtdr?i=wMTA3NzIxMzZzNDEzZGZkMzF5NTQx http://www.we-todd-did-racing.com/wetoddimage.wtdr?i=wMTA3NzIxNDZzNDEzZGZkMzF5NTQx Someone please help me !
Make sure you have set all BIOS settings right. If you put it together yourself then make sure you have connected every thing, and done correctly.
that why i posted those pictures i dont know if thats all correct i have build alot of PC in my time but i havent built a new one in a while and its confusing me. I played with the bios and everything seems correct the PC starts up pretty good tell it trys to boot from harddrive then it frezzes. I changed RAM and harddrive and i still get same thing.
-Clear C-mos. -is it the same HDD? -Check Ram timings on MB. -Set defaults in Bios. If all else fails, I find that a large hammer and a well placed blow helps with stress.
tried all that to i did hit alot of stuff with a shoe tho lol ROFL (not the pc) Could it be my power supply connector that plugs into the motherboard?
It looks like you are using a 20 pin ATX power connector, you need a 24 pin. Did not think you'd be able to do that or boot at all, but i still think it looks that way. http://www.we-todd-did-racing.com/wetoddimage.wtdr?i=wMTA3NzIxMjZzNDEzZGZkMzF5NTQx ATX 24 Pin http://www.power-on.com/atx24.html Adapters http://www.power-on.com/connectors-adapters.html
THANK YOU VERY MUCH I thought that might be my problem !! YES i will go tomorrow and find a good powersupply.
Wow so it is a 20pin then. I did not know that was possible. I would think the edge of the 20pin connector would hit something and not just slide in between pin 20-24 but i guess it's just made that way. Well anyway i do hope that fixes it, you have a really nice rig there so it would be sad not to get it up a running.
yeah i know i was feeling bad over here with all this new stuff and i cant even use it lol, im going tomorrow morning to go get a 24 pin power supply.
