Hey I am looking to increase my desk space as my current monitors stand takes up so much room and me being 6ft 7" tall with extremely long arms I tend to lean a lot into my desk and mouse mat. So the extra room would be great. I have this monitor here. CLICKY I know it uses the standard 100x100 VESA mounting but its curved so this would mean the vesa mount in also curved too? I can't seem to find any monitor arms that clamp to your desk that support curved monitors? Anyone care to help out on this? Ive tried youtube and seem to only find weird home hacks which I'm not comfortable with.
The curve could be different (radius) for each monitor and it's estate. Finding a support with VESA curved to snugly fit it's tricky at best. Some ideas Assuming that the mounting and the curvature is also present in the supporting backside plate: Measure the distance between the VESA plate and the monitor at the farthest point and you can 3D print a filling shape that will snugly fit between the VESA plate and the curved back side of the monitor. Just use longer screws and you're done. Hope that you understood what I am trying poorly to put in words.
Thanks for the reply and sorry it took so long for me too see this I didnt get the notification for some reason. I have checked on youtube and found that these curved monitors have a flat part where the vesa mount is so all flat vesa mounts should fit nicely. I have purchased one off amazon for £35 rated for upto 35" so it should be ok. If not I can always send it back.
Got the arm today, I can confirm that normal vesa mounts will fit curved monitors and it works like a charm Just need to hide the cables at the back a bit. This allows me now to get a much bigger mouse mat and allows me to use more of my desk as I am 6ft 7" and have long arms. edit: I cant post a pic for some reason, ive tried 3 different sites and all are blocked on G3D??
How long has that been there for?? LMAO I have never noticed it before.... Here is the photo for anyone who stumbles across this thread with a curved monitor. photo resized to 1024x768
Yes. But I wouldn't get this monitor. Its ok, but it suffers from some ghosting with blacks. I would get one of the LG monitors which will be my next monitor. https://www.overclockers.co.uk/lg-2...3_rtdW-ins0E0NUfLp7aPBxvHBjEWlNxoCAcgQAvD_BwE
Dude i'm playing on an LG 32GK850F ( https://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B0798QPYMF ) right now and i'm telling you it has also some ghosting with blacks. It's like all blacks get a bit fuzzy at one side when everything moves. It's not much but i notice it in night scenes. Plus it's not curved so you can't see pure blacks on the edges, there's a bit of shimmering going on. I'll def get a curved display next time.
That is an LCD probably a TN panel like mine. The new LG monitors that I posted are Nano IPS they solve majority of the ghosting/trailing around blacks. Bitwit and Linus did a review on them a while ago.
Mine has a VA-Panel. So that's the GL in front of the 850 ? I havent heard anything about nano-IPS yet. If you get this monitor plz keep me updated! Would like to get rid of the ghosting as well.
About the 27GL850-B: https://www.amazon.de/LG-27GL850-B-UltraGear-Monitor-schwarz/dp/B07T7K2V7 There are some ppl (see userpics) from 2019 who complained about BLB, but the overwhelming majority gave it 5 stars. Maybe LG had some bad panels in 2019.
I have 2 curved monitors. As far as I know, all mountable, curved monitors still use a standard, flat VESA pattern. My new 34" LG has the holes hidden under the mount whereas on our 30" sceptre, it shipped with an adapter that locks into the same position as the monitor stand.
