I loved the original NfS Hot Pursuit on the PS and then later PC but I'm less excited about this new version, probably because I found the developer Criterion's last game, Burnout Paradise, a huge disappointment compared with the earlier Burnout games. The open world format just did not work with Burnout IMO and made the empty, lifeless, lacking in variety city all the more apparent. I really hope this new game is a return to form for both Criterion and NfS.
Paradise isn't that bad imho.. It's idd not like the previous Burnouts, but it's allot of fun playing challenges online

I dont know if a wheel will be any good...no in dash view as far as I know. The handling should be as arcadish as it was in 2001 judging by the videos.
Just for once I would love a game that has realistic physics, in car view, open world and cops. I suppose it would be too hard for most people but I would absolutely love it.
How can you compare a new game to a game way back in 2001? How can you judge in car handling based on videos? There is no way to know for sure until you play the game.
Some people like NFS-shift if you disable all the assists. There is a difference of a game meant to be FUN as opposed to accurate. Would be nice if they could find the happy mid point between the two.
yea i know, don't get me wrong i liked all NFS series allot, but since Pro street they changed and added these assists, and even with it disabled it fells heavy and awkward to maneuver, especially in some corners it starts to slide like on ice, wdf lol-_-
If you want accurate physics try LFS or iRacing but I would recommend high quality wheels/pedals for those sims.
Shift is good, I love the way it handles with all assists off...but im telling you, hot pursuit is a controller based arcade game...friggin jimmy fallon was playing it on his show, it turns and handles like NFS2 and 3 but looks like shift. It is what it is, and will probably still be fun. I do wish that it had shift physics and dash views...as that would rock...but dont even think about getting your hopes up for that one so you wont be let down.
Shift takes a while to get used too, specially if you where playing dirt2 and then started playing shift again
I know what you mean, you cant go from Grid (another codemasters game) to shift and back again and not be screwed up. I used to rock at grid, but now if I try it I suck.
