And if you noticed recently, Microsoft has been touting HDR as a new selling point for XSEX.

    Electronic Arts at their finest.

Granted many Ubisoft games need UPlay running too, which is why I've bought the few Ubi games I have direct from UPlay.

    As for the remaster... yeah.

Besides as far as I'm concerned the original Hot Pursuit was NFS 3 in 1998 so this is a remaster of an already recycled game.

    Yay!

Literally Everyone:: We want an Underground remake/remaster.

EA:: Did someone say Hot Pursuit remaster.

Literally Everyone:: No, nobody asked for or wanted this.

Heat is pretty good. Sank tons of hours into the game, playing with buddies. It's fun! HP doesn't need a remaster. I agree that if you're going to remaster a NFS game, make it the first 2 Underground games.

Most Wanted was great, then the series went downhill. I only played the demo for Heat, and it literally brought the Heat. Pushed my CPU into the 90's. It's a rare glitch that I'm sure has been fixed now, but I wanted nothing to do with that.

Well this came out a good time, just as I've been itching to play a solid arcade racer. Played the original on the PS3 a lot and always fancied getting it for the PC but never did until this remaster came along.

Looks good, runs good, sounds good, plays good. Still an absolute blast and crossplay works great too. Game is capped at 60fps though, possibly due to engine limitations and to avoid syncing issues with console players when playing online or something, who knows... that aside, there's quite a few graphics options to tinker with, not that you need to since you can leave everything at max and just play, didn't really observe any framerate dips during the 2 hours that I played.

Would I call it a remaster ? Probably not, more like NFS:HP Enhanced but at 25 quid/30 odd bucks on steam I feel like it was worth my money and will be playing plenty of it I'm sure.

For me this one is of those NFS titles that just went by without any big memories. Never played through it completely but enjoyed it esp in MP. Didn't like the sliding mechanics though.

IMHO they should either redo the first NFS Hot Pursuit (which had courses of NFS 3 and some new ones) or just go open world with an Underground remake. Whatever they do, police chases are a must have.

Underground 1&2 was the best game in the series hands down.

They are trying to fix that with the last 2 games of need for speed.

    In my opinion always.

They were great for their time, and I would love to go back to them remastered. But that is asking a lot of EA.

the closest they've gotten to U2 is Undercover and the 2015 online one,

Undercover (patched origin version) is entirely broken on 10+thread cpu's, and the unpatched steam version can't load origin saves :|

Remaster of those would be lovely even if its the first one.

Everything released after Most Wanted has been broken. It's terrible what happened to this once great franchise. Criterion needs to get full control of a new game.

    no crap?

i thought it was just Undercover that hung in some punkbuster function forever.

I know Carbon basically broke on every platform with enough playtime.

I'm going to reinstall undercover and try it with with intel SDE

    edit
nah, i can't work it out, as long as theres more than 8 threads the game just hangs after selecting to login to ea network or not, no affinity tools work, the dual core injector only works for x64 processes, and SDE doesn't want to work either.

It'll need someone with reverse engineering backgrounds to make a hack around.

I would say the 2015 nfs is a good return to form, but the ones after not really

    For consoles.

A lot of people forget that most remasters are for console markets mainly. This on xbox 360 was less than 1080p 30fps and looked like ass, for people who only played that its a big step up.
