    Hello fellow gurus.

Usually, I can handle myself... But a little help won't hurt as the symptoms are unusual to me.

    First of config :
    - read my profile for most of it.
    - drives : 1 OCZ vertex 2 before LE revision. 2 western digital caviar green 1Tb in raid 1. They were setup on the RAID controller with AHCI enabled.

    What happened :
    - One day, was playing a game and game froze, blue screen, auto reboot.
    - No problems for a couple of weeks, I thought it was just bad luck.
    - Yesterday : same as day 1, auto reboot : freeze instantly.
Manual reboot: displays some bios messages : freeze.
Manual reboot : displays more bios messages (a little further) : freeze.
Manual reboot: "overclocking failed !!" I say continue, freeze.
Manual reboot: "overclocking failed !!" I load defaults, freeze.
Wait a bit, chill out, shut off the rig for a minute.
Boot : starting windows, freeze after logo, before password prompt on the black image.
Start pestering, get a bit nervous : I shut everything down, UPS as well and leave stuff for an hour.
Boot : like nothing happened. All was perfect. Played a bit, a piece of heaven.

Today : come from work, boot : "overclocking failed" : I load defaults. No boot drive ! * big, nervous eyes *
    Reboot, same thing.
Use failsafe button on the motherboard, says defaults are loaded, no boot drive.
Go to the bios, find that the SSD is in third position on the drive boot order. Move it to first one.
    Boot : sucess.

But... The raid setup disapeared, memory settings where still the same before I pushed the failsafe button.

Right now It's working, I'm writing this post with it and backing everything up.

My guess is the motherboard. What do you think ?

    Update:

IO operations with disks are a nightmare. System gets stuck when trying to write anything.

    Reading sometimes crashes too.

If I insert an external drive and unplug it, the system doesn't even acknowledge that the drive isn't there anymore. All operations will result into "can't access data".

After some crashes nothing will work, even opening the task manager fails.

AMD overdrive Stability test : passed
    windows memory test : passed.

Definitly the momy board isn't it ?

Seems like chipset issue to me and also voltage overclock limit . Try using builtin overclock profile dont exceed over 20%. Also do one thing try swapping hard drive slots to another sata port.

Just found out that memory can't hanlde anymore advertised timings.

It can handle fail safe 9-9-9-24@1.5 but no longer the 7-8-7-24@1.6

I'll have to RMA them... sight.

If you are reading this deltalux : Gskill failed this time :)

    lol, all my G.Skills work as advertised. My brother's rig works better than advertised. It's a 1333 MHz CL9 2T RAM at 1532 MHz @ CL8 1T :p.

Sucks that you got a bad pair.

EDIT: Both my bro and my rig run our RAM at stock voltage btw.
