What happened to leaving AMD far behind with their drivers?

Some times we can live with some issues. 1st) I don't know if everything will be error-free in green side, and 2nd) I can just do whatever gpu and driver combo allows me to do not need to force anything, I have games that I will never find time to play with.

I will see reviews and users feedback and I will decide. I am not an early adopter anyway, I will not give my money for free either amd or nvidia. These Holidays people will play lots of games. I am interested to see if AMD drivers are improved this time for RDNA2.

Xbox series are windows based as always, playstation is unix based as always. If ATI/RTG cannot learn something from sony/microsoft, it's their own fault. But what if RDNA2 becomes the best gpu overall without issues as a new base? I should not be in a hurry to judge.

    Stay positive :p
IMhO You can't go wrong this time, either RTX3080 or Big Navi* will be enough for 1440p up to 144Hz easy.

    *80/72 CUs part ;)
64/56 will trade blows with 3060 or 3070....

Is there someone with Gigabyte RX5700 XT rev. 2.0?
I would like to see vbios :)

Wasn't that just a fan profile adjustment, though I don't think I've seen the new version for the Gigabyte 5700 OC (Think it was that one.) on TechPowerUp but it could be part of the larger list of still unverified bios files too.
Could be more though but unless AMD directly supplies a modified Navi10 bios the various vendors will be doing smaller tweaks like the target temperature and fan settings.

But eh having a complete set of bios files couldn't hurt, could be other tweaks in there but I wouldn't expect much more. :)

EDIT: Or it's one of those hardware revisions with minor changes to the PCB or in this case I suppose maybe the cooler, could be both though.
(And hopefully not a immediate downgrade for the hardware.)

EDIT: 5600's 2.0 is for the memory speed and a bios update, 5700's I can't find much about.

EDIT: And just as with their motherboards the revision differences can be checked but there's very little info (Or none at all really.) for what's been changed.

Yeah, I don't expect much, but it can contain some small tweaks which can help...
BTW I have now Gigabyte RX 5700, do you think that it's possible to flash it with this XT bios?

Yeah I searched it already. Only thing I wasn't sure is the bios switch on the XT version, which is not on the nonXT card.

Yes just like sapphire did the vega 56 pulse. Now all RTX cards are just like that.

    Hi everyone, my 1st post.
Quick question, is this the best place to ask question about 5700XT & afterburner app?
Saw a thread here but its kinda old & software upgrades since...
    Thanks. :)

I see now that there is newer version of bios 017.001.000.068.000000 for 5600 XT and 5700 from Gigabyte, so the new version of 5700 XT could also have this firmware :)

At what resolution do you play and what is your hotspot temp at load?

    I have UWD 34" monitor on a way with 3440 × 1440 resolution so I will see.
Now I don't use the card to 100% with FullHD and 75Hz :)

I use 3440x1440. I am wondering if the rev2 of the card improved the hotspot temperature.

You probably misunderstood it. I don't have 5700XT rev.2.0, I have RX 5700 and just want to flash the bios in it :)

Ok, so when I set more than 2150 for gpu speed in afterburner v4.6.2, it snaps back to 2150, why does it do this?
    20.4.2 drivers using.

    Cheers.
