I have an Alphacool Eiswolf 240 GPX Pro AIO for the 5700XT and have been running with it since they introduced it.

Below is a TimeSpy stress test.
Ambient temp in the room is 21.1C for reference.

Three things to note: I didn't rig my system for benchmarking but left it at my day to day settings. (below)
I did not use the Alphacool XPX thermal paste that came with the AIO (5.6 W/mK), Instead I used liquid metal.
My tests of the thermal paste vs liquid metal was that it had a 10C difference in single TimeSpy runs over paste. (hot spot)
(about 5C on the steady stress test below.)
My card is an AMD reference card. (early adopter here) And as such, the 2026Mhz reflects the silicon lottery.


As with everything thermal, given the plethora of variables, your mileage may vary if you go down the waterblock/metal route.



Custom powerplay table: (basically found the Powercolor Liquid Devil settings to be optimal for my rig.)

 

@RatSample saved me a bunch of work posting shots, thank oyu. im seeing very similar temps across the board. But i am currently in the market for 2 larger radiators, i think my single 120 and a single 240 is too small for my 3900x / 5700xt combo after watching what temps @MSIMAX is achieving with his current build.
edit: i ended up getting the corsair waterblock on Amazon at a great price..... but its a shi77y design. the unit will leak if there is any downward pressure on the inlet/outlet ports. I regret not getting the bitpower or the ek unit.... buyer beware folks.

 

From my point of view, 3900X temperatures are not as much about radiator as they are about coldplate and its water flow + TIM between coldplate and IHS.
1st) Ryzen's IHS is convex = like a very little hill.
2nd) Most of coldplates are lightly convex too as intel's IHSes are slightly concave = valley.
This causes that you get really good contact and pressure in center of IHS for your 3900X. But, that's sadly not where CPU chiplets are.
I have not lapped IHS of my 3900X. But I made coldpate of liquid cooling much more flatter. (Still not flat.)

Then, for same reason why convexity is problem with IHS+coldplate, one has to consider construction of coldplate itself and water flow. To make it easier to describe and understand, I'll use heatpipe as example.
Imagine air cooling that has several heatpipes. You can attach this cooling in way that one heatpipe goes over both CPU chiplets. Or you can rotate heatsink by 90° and have two different heatpipes go over each of CPU chiplets.

And lastly, there is TIM. Good TIM can shave quite a few degrees. As well as properly thin application. (Which is not possible without lapping or getting cooling w/ convex coldplate.)
And when new TIM is applied it takes multiple heating cycles for it to sit and have full effect.

As far as radiators go, I was damn happy with 12cm one on Fury X and that produced good 250W when I did run it undervolted. Quiet and cool. That's because there is only TIM between GPU and coldplate.

 

i dont know about ek reference blocks but stay away from strix block i coulda killed my card with it.

Yes, the Red BIOS Editor (RBE) has once again undergone a major upgrade, as hellm has now also unlocked the DRAM and made it fully accessible.
The depth of the settings is almost overwhelming and there is probably no value from the JEDEC specifications that cannot be changed by a single entry in a special mask. This makes it really easy to change the memory defaults, no matter whether modules from Samsung or Micron were used!

The operation is actually quite simple. I won’t go into the sequence of using the RBE at this point, though, because that’s what the download page is for. The only important thing is to pay attention to which RAM modules were installed on the card, whose BIOS you read in!
The rest is actually almost self-explanatory. Switch to the tab “VRAM Timings” and you will first see the module selection (depending on the data read in so far) and the six strings for the individual clock stages.



Afterwards you can open the actual editing window via the button for the individual frequencies, because the string stored in the BIOS is initially completely cryptic and thus unusable for almost all users.
But that’s where the RBE comes in: what you see after opening the timing editor looks like the BIOS of a better equipped motherboard, and the timing settings are actually similar to those of the memory.

However, one should not make any changes at a whim without some basic knowledge, because this will definitely go wrong and in the best case will only lead to instability.
But this is exactly where i see the experienced and experimental community now! if you have tested your own settings and think they are worth to be made publicly available to other users – go ahead! our forum is exactly the right place for that.
And maybe one day we’ll have a Hall of Fame of sorts with the best DRAM mods? come on, you’ve got the tools for it now!

IMhO it can be quite an uplift in performance.... much like Vega.

 

Navi memory is already at it's limits .. maybe squeeze a little out of it with this but probably just cause problems somewhere

overclocking it is also a no go

 

i have 5700xt in water loop its the refernce edition with samsung gddr6 i have rbe but i cant oc vram more than 1810 with the timing now, i could achieve more?if yes how?because i observe that samsung has more loose timings than hynix

 

Good job man i have also reference 5700xt in alphacool water block, how i push the gddr6?could you sharre with me the rbe or more power tool settings that you used!mine at 1810mhz gddr6 it crashes and i think that are the timing of samsung gddr6

Also it sounds like Asus has put up a few new bios updates for most of the 300, 400 and 500 series of motherboards including a fancy new AGESA version up from 1.0.6.0 to 1.0.8.0 doing...something.
Version numbering for this is a bit different though, guessing once Zen3 is out there will be another name and the version number will again reset back to 1.0.0.0

And people bought 2060 super thinking its similar price and performance as 5700xt lol.

 

I can't wait for big navi news. 2070 was destroyed by a cheaper card. 2070 super overpriced for ~5% more performance at 1440p. If big navi family can beat nvidia 3070-3080 price performance ratio and bring real raytracing support, we will enjoy gaming this winter without breaking our bank.
