RX5700XT = Radeon VII
I had to LOL as they're still wishy washy on recommending Radeon products. According to them, children are dying and people are collecting in mobs burning down churches in response to AMD instability, and their use of polls in substitution of facts. A major FACT that they keep glossing over is that they themselves on all their test setups have had NO ISSUES WHATSOEVER.
I understand that sensational worry hype gets clicks, but this kind of news reporting is nothing less than Hype Train. Sad. I will no longer be clicking on their videos.
Very sketchy imo. Amd drivers are a bit wonky at the moment, hit or miss for some. But damn, i remember the days of no driver updates for months at a time in my 5850 days.... im very pleased with the work AMD has done with the driver team recently. Yes they miss the mark from time to time. But monthly and bi monthly updates are a plus plus in my book.
We need to remember one simple truth -> Majority of Gamers do not have any problems
Better not be Unlucky....
IMhO Navi 5700(XT) is the best GPU of the decade, even better than nV Pascal (Price Vs Performance Vs tW).
"On average the GeForce RTX 2080 Super is only ~15% faster than the 5700 XT at 1440p, yet it’s priced 75% higher."
Quite happy here with my Sapphire 5700xt Pulse. I was watching the temps & speeds in GPU-Z
as I've only just gone & joined LTT's Folding@Home Team.
What made me happy was seeing that this card is boosting up to 2070mHz, with an average of
2015mHz /2040mHz. Now this cards spec page lists the Boost Clock @ 1925 Mind you I'm
also on air 2 x 20cm fans, right above the card. I usually run with just one on low but on noticing
the high boost I turned them both on for shits n giggles. Boosts were the same & the temp
dropped to 66c from say 84c.
I'm running the previous Adrenaline release, got the new one just have to install.
I've done no overclocking or tweaking, this is driver default performance.
That's a pretty sweet card you have there.
It's lead me to think the NAVI cards need direct airflow over all the card not just on major components.
I wonder what would be the results with a liquid cooled card that also had a high volume of air blowing straight across it?
On a side note, started folding an hour or so back, using only the GPU (no CPU) & was watching YouTube in Firefox (Hardware Acceleration disabled)
& noticed the card is constantly pegging @ 2070mHz.
Quite chuffed with this card.
PS - Running 1 of the big 20cm fans @ lowest rpm.
Despite the pricing 5700xt offers 2070super level of performance. Im sure with time it will be even faster which i cant say about nvidia.
I've joined the ranks, picked up the 50th anniversary edition for $369 USD.
oh dear,, thats gonna be 1 hot card
really should have gone with msi or sapphire imo
i will be putting a waterblock on it, the https://www.ekwb.com/shop/ek-vector-radeon-rx-5700-xt-rgb-nickel-plexi
ohh nice .. enjoy
5700XT Vs 2070S Vs 1080Ti.....
Can you please share some temps with us after you fit the waterblock? I have the same card, but i left the stock cooler on it.
