The logs seem ok. Did you check you don't have D3D9.dll or D3D11.dll in the same folder as dxgi.dll ?

If you try to use 3DMigoto to remove highlighting, they are not compatible.

Thanks man, I probably wouldn't have done it without your mods and helpful posts. Thank you again.

Well he said Reshade so I assumed he did find it, the original version uses sweetfx. Seems like some people have problems with the Reshade even in windows 8/10.
But anyways I'm going to add an alternative main version with Reshade in it for win8/10 users to make it less confusing.

Yeah these files should be in the "/Watch_Dogs/bin/" folder. Sorry I have no idea why else it wouldn't work, I use Windows 7 myself.

Danvsw, you are famous! The biggest gaming site in Spanish (and some other magazines and editorials) made news on your mod. They gather more than 4.5 million of unique visitors every month.

That explains the sudden spike in views and Spanish commenters.
    Awesome! Thanks for showing me.

No problem. It was definitely awesome to read your name there with no warning!

Hi, first of all congratulations for your great work. Now, the game looks really awesome.

But I want to notice something nobody commented here, or I didn't see at least. When I run the game through Steam I always get a CTD but if I run the game directly from watch_dogs.exe, the game run like a charm.

Only for testing purposes I have removed dxgi.dll from bin directory and the game runs perfectly again from steam, but, well, it's not so pretty anymore, you know.

I'm only publishing this info because I'm reading some post related with CTD and dxgi.dll problems.

I don't know if there is any solution for that problem, dxig.dll and Steam "incompability", and I don't know if it is only my case, but it would be a great idea post this information for general knowledge and avoid missunderstanding.

    Best Regards.

    Thanks buddy.
Yes it seems that sweetfx/reshade have compatibility issues with various background processes for some people. Disabling steam overlay and/or any monitoring OSD software seems to be the only solution to that so far.

Yes, I know Steam Overlay, or Steam itself, sometimes can be very problematic with external programs. I tried to disable Steam Overlay/ Theater VR before post my first message and it didn't help.

Anyway, I would like to make you a question. I've used dxig.dll included in the official Sweetfx 1.5 and now the game runs like a charm through Steam and the fantastic effects of rain and light continue appearing in the game.

Is there any difference between using your dxig.dll (550 kbs) and Sweetfx 1.5 dxig.dll (391 kbs)?

I didn't see any difference using the 1.5 dxig.dll to be honest, but I really don't know if the change of dll can modify something in some way. I cannot post images here cause I have less than 5 post, but you can see the screenshots with the game running here: imgur.com/a/0yi2r

    Regards.

Tried the 1.5 dxgi.dll, the game works but the sweetfx isn't being applied. The sweetfx I'm using is the special Boulotaur2024 version made to work with x64 games.
If you want to make sure the sweetfx is being applied, press Scroll Lock and see if anything changes.

    Hello,

    You're mod looks very good.
The only thing is that it makes my game stutter and lag.
It even lags when I put everything on low.
Stutter and lag seems to appear every 5 seconds. Very annoying. Do you know a way how to fix this?

Sorry, I've not experienced such a thing and have no idea why it may occur. Try running in borderless windowed mode, the game generally runs better for me that way.

The only thing working for me now is putting textures to medium..
    Weird..
Still lags but not as heavy.

You may have stutters because of low Video memory.

Oh yeah that's right, it's most likely the modded textures from TheWorse causing higher VRAM usage.

Could you upload another main version of your mod but combined with KuroTenshi Texture Pack?

I believe they have less impact on VRAM.

My game is still laging now at medium textures..
