Install 10.3 opengl drivers and clock are back to normal 157/300. These are fast driver but unfortunatly with bug in powerplay...

right..... please keep trying these drivers ppl, theyre the best yet. :)

look there is no ''powerplay bug'' in these drivers, its just a compatibility or install issue...

If i set gpu clock to 900 and keep memory at 1200 i get 400/1200 on idle.

Also wei score went to 6.0 on harddrives and dropped to 5.9 when i redid it. Damn harddrive score always different.:)

Well at least its on their know issue list, one can only hope they are working on it and 10.4 might show a solution. BTW these fixed the flashing textures of my setup, but I still get horizontal lines at the end of every map change.

No fps gain in Bc2, flickering is still there.

Well, here's my report. Most of the fps changes are probably placebo, amd probably did some rewriting for good. However, I confirm that in Vantage GPU test 1 fps went from 31 to 37-50+ at "box dropping in the water" scene :) Sadly, overall gpu score is 500 points lower. Metro 2033 is a bit smoother, 1 fps increase in heavy lighting scenes. Microstuttering in Serious Sam Hd is gone as well as AA bug in fluidmark (appears only at OGL 4 Preview March 29 driver). What's to PowerPlay - it's not a bug, it's a long-time anticipated fix for 2d clock issue. Memory and core clocks went higher, and this appears the only solution to this. At first time since 10.3 preview I stopped experiencing driver hanging at system startup and at random apps launch. Good to see that amd are actually doing something useful :) Max temps also went down to 1-2 degrees.

So with every release since today we will see 400/1000 clocks? 1000 for memory is a bit high dont you think?

thats how my modded bios works, 400/1000 works brilliantly for 2d.

Well... I think that i did something wrong :D (XP x64) In tried to install these drivers, but the display driver wouldn't install at all. So i did a clean install (express uninstall, reboot in safe mode, clean everything, DSweeper, registry cleaner, manually deleted some things, reboot again).

After that the drivers installed well, BUT, my Cat version says 2.2 o_O. The DirectX Driver version is 6.14.something, like the OpenGL version. It should be 8.something if i recall correctly.

Bad Company 2 worked well, there is less flickering, it didn't dissapear completely, but it flickers less than before.

Well, another issue is that when i go to the monitors pannel in CCC, an error apears that says that something doesn't support "bold type". Just like the error that i had with DriverSwepper 2.0 (it dissapear in 2.1).

Actually, things may change in final release. I think that in its current "work in progress" state driver realisation of powerplay is something mixed from 4xxx and 5xxx series. In 2d mode 4xxx series core is downclocked slightly (from 750 to 510Mhz, for example, which is about 30%) while memory stays at full speed even in 2d mode. In 5xxx series core gets downclocked more significantly (from 725 to 160 which is 77%) as well as memory. But in this driver release core is downclocked by 45%, while memory stays at full speed, even if overclocked. So right now this solution seems quite temporary, AMD's just probably trying out different variants... :nerd:

i noticed the same here in my xfx 5770

maybe its not a bad thing that it stays up, i tried encoding with Mediashow espresso and it seems to be faster now (with the acceleratio GPU)

Powerplay is actually working properly as intended in this release.

400 core 1000 memory for 5850 when using multiple monitors. 157 core 300 memory when using single monitor. Those are the correct values.

400 core 1000 memory stays when using overclocking on multiple monitors now where as before if it wasn't running at stock speeds it would drop to 157 core and 300 memory and flicker.

I've been wondering about that. Can I use two monitors on my 5770 with powerplay turned on? (idle 157MHz core, 300 MHz Memory)

Because every time I plug in and extend the second monitor my default clock jumps to 600 and 1200. I expect this to be a big diference as I'm not actually playing a movie or running a 3D app.

thats wrong , i got a 5970 with 1 32"DVI LCD connected, in CCC i set only a decent overclock to 740/1000 , and after a few hours of gaming -- back to desktop .. the 2d clock kept 400 mhz

That is what it is supposed to do if you have your 32" LCD connected. This is the 2d FIX, they just increased the clocks when you have 2 screens.
