http://users.telenet.be/roeltjah/cpu%20z%20fx%2057.JPG Anyone else with the same cpu? Post your findings? Here are my two cents, it rox! If only I still had money left for a new graphics card! Gonna do some benchies later on!
I guess it's a nice CPU, but in the end I think the price just makes it say "stay away" because the price for performance on those things are just ridiculous.
true price for performance is kinda shotty at stock speeds, but its stock speed of 2.8GHz leaves lots of overclocking room whereas a 3000+ at 2.8GHz is pretty far overclocked and doesnt have much more room to go higher. but its just what you want to spend on, and when people see fx-57 they think "ooooh-ahhhh" it has a bigger awe factor than a 3000+ at 2.8GHz to most. if i was gonna be doing something like that though i would get a 4000+ and overclock from there. much much cheaper. lookin at your system specs, if your going all out on the processor why not go all out on everything else, you have 1 gig of memory why not get 2 gigs of 600MHz memory, and an X850XT PE or some super high end video card, maybe a next gen card, etc etc.
On the forums of Neowin, you can find the uxtheme patcher, which enables you to use third party themes, this is the Longhorn aero theme! Lovely isn't it!
I'm getting a 3400+ for $167.50 US and I will be quite happy with that. That's all I'll need for now. The FXs will come down and when they do to a price I like then I'll get one. For now I go with the best bang fo the buck.
true, but thats impressive 3.0 and 3.5GHz at 1.4v, for a 3000+ to get to 3.5GHz it'd probably need a vcore of ~1.7-1.9v, ive seen 3000's at 2.6GHz with 1.5v, just my point, stock its not very impressive, but the overclocking you can do with it almost makes it worth the price. i know i'd love to have a 3.5GHz FX running at only 1.4v lol
Looks like Ur SS was posted @ XS http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?t=66261 AnD ur being questioned if u have it patched or not
Oh, c'mon, its $330. Most Venice overclockers get 3200's for $200, so its really not so bad as that. A FX is a different story, but then again it just all comes down to how much having that slight edge is worth to you. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...539&CMP=OTC-pr1c3watch&ATT=Microprocessors+PC Cheapest on pricewatch is retail box, wierd, that...
