Hey I wrote a tweakguide for bfbc2 that I put up at http://forum.ea.com/eaforum/posts/list/0/2548152.page#8463553.

The purpose is to get good performance from bfbc2 fps and 'smoothness'-vise.

It contains general and advanced tweaks for bfbc2, my best nvidia cp settings for bfbc2 (please comment on those) and some windows tweaks and tips.

Some of it is fine; but half of that stuff will -hurt- performance. =/

And what exactly would that be? I love 'experts' who claim stuff without backing it up.

Is it to use the updated drivers?

    Turn off unneded processes?

    Disable unneded services?

    Lower graphics options?

    Running bfbc2 at higher priority?

As a matter of fact the only thing in this guide that 'might' lower performance is the mouse tweak. And since that is such a great booster to the experience when playing I still recommend it.

I don´t mind people coming with good critisicsm, but please be well informed if you do.

Anyways, I browsed through it and it didnt really tell me anything that I didnt already know since the game came out. You mostly talked about everything but the game and BC2 was a small portion of it.

    I guess it will help...someone.

90% of tweaking the game is in the graphicssettings. Since the tools I have linked will take care of those there´s really not more to say. I´m glad you like my gpu, its one of a kind.

i play at 1920 x 1200 all maxed with 4aa super sampling ,and its smooth as butter

and are u sponsered by tools ?

Plus you are nuts? Playing a Game like that at the lowest settings makes it unplayable you need sharp and clean graphics to see the targets easily. if you play at 1024x768 you will only see pixel noise moving at the distance, that will go even worse if you turn off Vsync because of all the tearing you will get. Get better hardware and play it correctly, locked at 60 FPS, at max settings with good hardware its the way to play it. rock solid FPS that never goes below 60 and max graphical settings will ensure you Best game play, you will see the targets easily and you will be able to see an helmet poping out of a window at 1 kilometre.

With my settings everything is clear and crisp. I mention this in the guide. This guide main focus is to make it a one-stop for a newbie to find out how to get better performance without having a monstermachine.

Personally I would never play with 60 fps/hz, it hurts my eyes. Vsync lowers performance a LOT and also helps introduce mouselag and thats something that you definately dont want.

Actually vsync often introduces mouselag. http://forums.guru3d.com/showthread.php?t=240885 for example.

If you have tearing and dont want it you DONT want to turn vsync on you instead should get 100+fps and 100+ hz on your monitor.

Ok, so, instead of turning V-Sync on, I should get a 120HZ monitor, and upgrade my CPU & GPU so I can maintain 100+FPS at all times?

    ...Unreasonable as hell suggestion.

Yes and you are doing the exact same thing, not bringing anything valuable.

I guess you could debate if I´m an expert, there will probably people who knows this stuff better, but there are definately a lot of tips in the guide that most people don´t know. I used to be an elite fps player and I know some of the top names in games like q1, q3 and cs, and yes I guess that qualifies me somewhat. For example, a few guys here recommending vsync, which none of the top players use.

That may or may not be so but it is the best way to avoid tearing.

Or you could be like me, that sees minimal tearing to the point of not even noticing it, thus enjoying high FPS with no VSYNC :)

The best way to avoid tearing is to turn V-Sync on with Triple Buffering.

And top players? What the hell dude, are you some relic from the 90's?
