This is...just...wow. I bet this is going to cost a pretty penny. Those speeds are amazing for a single drive. 4 Sandforce controllers on this thing...yeesh crazy...

Yea cost is ridiculous for SSDs - Slowly coming down for low capacity drives, but for drives that are worthy of being C:\ sizes, they are still selling them in fantasy land prices, and I am certain it costs more to produce a mechanical HDD than it does for an SSD in terms of material and process

I'd take one of these babies over a Titan personally.

Oh you're certain, are you? Why is that? Do you have some proof somewhere breaking down the manufacturing cost? Are you an industry insider?

Economics 101, pass the R&D costs down to the consumer.

heh that's why I don't waste SSDs on Windows. I'll do a RAID setup for Windows but that's about as far as I'll go.

Anyways, based on the picture, this card just looks like a RAID controller with 4 m-SATA ports. I guess it's not really a problem, but I'd rather buy 4 separate SSDs and put them in in a good RAID controller. Save myself some money.

A joke? These companies should develop their processes and designs for free and give you the product for the cost of raw materials? That sounds like excellent business sense!
