In a bit of an unusual move memory vendor Mushkin is about to launch a complete new line of NVIDIA GeForce-based graphics cards providing end-users with yet another alternative to the crowded market... More...
Sweeeet. No idea why but I just love Mushkin and would glady have their logo on my graphics card Mushkin GT300 please!
I agree, they look much better than those tacky robot/fantasy stickers you get on most cards. Plus they ship a free coffin for the card in case you have to RMA :eyes:
How apt Definitely liking the slick idea, especially if you've gone down the slick/smart looking chassis route already Did they make cards before? (you say they're 'back into'). Bundles look good, free flash drives..
IMO, the cards don't look bad, but WTF is with the wood box? Sounds like a useless price increase to me. There is no way I'd pay extra for a card just because it comes in a wood box that I have no use for.
They look just like reference coolers with Mushkin stickers on them....nothing special about that. How about adding a new, more effective cooler to go with the upmarket packaging and pricing.
Mushkin Actually I am glad to see Mushkin in the market myself, and there cards do look better than evga, msi, asus and all the messed up stickers on them. But the plus side here is maybe Mushkin could actually make these cards hopefully with gddr5 and so forth which in turn would change the market segment, coming from a memory company would that not be a present surprise for all of us on the nvidia side
They don't support gddr5...that's why there aren't any using it. GT300 will be the first nV series to support gddr5. Just because a memory maker suddenly starts selling graphics cards, doesn't mean the memory controller suddenly gains support for newer/faster memory.
While the box sounds quite unique, and the aesthetics are much more understated (personally, I find it a bit boring if I am honest. But I never have stock cooling on for long anyway! You can't see the sticker when it is installed anyway), I really couldn't care less if another vendor decides to throw in his own reference cards with the obligatory overclocked versions for a price hike. Honestly. I just want to see some innovative board designs and improvements from a vendor. Hopefully Mushkin will take this in to account and make something truly special. But if I am honest, I doubt this will be the case. As usual, it looks like I will just be buying the cheapest card of a given model I can find.
At first glance I mistook it for a Quadro card. That's got to be one of the most 'plain' gamers cards I've ever seen. Nice to see.
